I love pulling records outta my box and slamming them on. yeah, i think i'd feel differently if i was actually spinning records, but as long as i'm doing ableton i think this is the way to go, otherwise i just can't justify it as artistically valid. i really enjoy the work that goes into it; there's nothing better than getting home from work, smoking a bowl, and loving around with different blends for a few hours. i'm a compulsive perfectionist with my mixes and am not happy unless they're smooth and error free, start to finish. i'm starting to build up a decent record collection but it'll take me a few years before i have enough to produce the kind of mixes i do now, and even then it'd take several more years of practice before i'd be able to put out anything of this quality. i'd love to be that good and maybe i'll get there eventually, but i don't feel like that should preclude me from doing what i do now (i know that's not what you're implying).
