As someone who only very recently has gotten into Minimal (Usually listen to DNB, Electro, Dubstep and Grime) I'm loving this, cheers.

The Popof remix of Tension is amazing... Might have to skip work on Monday and go see him at fabric Sunday night.

You are completely right about the volume on some of the mixing, thanks for the critique, I'll work on that. Yeah I regret that udachi mix when I listened through the mix, it's just tooo heavy a tune, even for this mix. Thanks a lot man

For some reason you're mixes are playing really low on my ipod, both this and your dubstep mix you posted a while back are doing this (despite being 320) and it's almost agaonizing to hear some of these tunes drop without the full attack on my ears as expected. Might just be me though.

Otherwise good poo poo man I love your track selection. I don't like to name drop random people but I saw the Squire Of Gothos the other night randomly supporting Jack Beats and while more Garage than house you (and everyone into a fatty bassline) might want to check out him out.

This is the first mix I've done that I'm happy enough with to send out publicly, and I reckon it's turned out pretty well. I've been mixing for almost a year now and after doing a couple of parties over xmas and loving it I want to start putting together some mixes that might get me a set.

Glad you all liked it and made your own mix. It's a really cool/interesting genre.

Playing Top 40 music for people that like Top 40 music seems to me like a nightmare to me. Right there with being a corny wedding DJ. It completely changes how I look at DJing, I play music I like and music I would listen to for people that enjoy it as well. Playing music I hate (I don't hate all Top 40, but you get the idea) for people I probably would hate based on their musical choices (pretentious I know), just seems so degrading. DJing is a hobby for me. What's the point of a hobby if you are miserable doing it? That's what jobs are for :D

Some guy I know Dj's top 40 cheese and justifies it by geting paid decent to do it, but I agree with you 100%. I actually enjoy the challenge of finding more commercial sounding house to play live, and it's important to include some music 'normal people' will feel they know (even if they dont) but the second I have to give up my crate for someone elses idea of a decent set I know it would be time to give up.

I've got my first live set next month so I created this Electro mix to promote myself. It's also the first set I've created mixing harmonically which has probably made the biggest single improve to my DJing since learning to beatmatch.

I've been getting much more into house over the past year and have decided it's time to play some out so here's the mix I've been sending through to the house promoters round here.

It starts off with some wicked jazz influenced house, with some deep and tech stuff before ending on some heavier electronic house. 124bpm for the first half, moving up to 126 later on.

Check it out, feedback much appreciated!

Anyone used Beatport mixes before? Just uploaded a little something something that Soundcloud wouldn't allow due to some copyright violation bollox.

Pretty annoying that the mix they allow you to play is a 'lo fi preview' - I'd rather it be high quality and free than £6 to purchase the 320, like anyone's seriously gonna bother...

Anyways here it is, one hour of stomping Berlin techno complete with track links so you can support the artists :)

My Beatport is your friend for finding new music. Just follow the artists and labels you like and you can kind of spiders web out from there gradually finding other new labels/artists as they drift into your latest My Beatport.

Fake edit: There is way too much poo poo music out there to really justify doing what mitztronic does, but you do find some utter gems.

Now that's just silly.

In terms of finding older stuff, depending on how far you're looking to go back, old Beatport charts of artists are a good way of finding stuff from now deceased labels etc. I found out about Dubfire this way (yes my techno education is bad) when I saw this track on a guys chart from 2008. Beautiful minimal techno https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ad0Z5kiBfTI
