I think they want to keep the number at around 20 with "full capacity" being 22, so we have some openings. To clarify on the above your first 90 days you get paid as if your yearly salary was $21,000. This comes out to about $700 bi-monthly. Commission is available from day one and you get paid $30 for every completed appointment that you set. My average commission is probably around $450 a month. After/if you pass your 90 evaluation you get bumped up to $32,000 a year with benefits. Everyone who works in the department is fairly young (22-30) pretty cool, managers can be a pain sometimes but that's true everywhere. Free pizza on Fridays, jeans everyday, etc. Edit: There's also a $2k referral bonus that I'd get which I'd split with anyone who made their 90 day evaluation (need to make the eval for me to get the bonus). Looking for a job Location Knoxville, Tn. But with the proper salary (to overcome wife having to look for a new job) anywhere would work. Education Master of Science in Physics, University of Tennessee, December 2009. Concentration in Nuclear Physics Graduate level minor in computational sciences. Technical skills I have a lot of experience in mathematical modeling and applying numerical solutions to physical problems. Everything from statistical analysis to monte-carlo simulation. I know C/C++ Java and Fortran. Im also proficient in a number of scripting languages. Php, perl, javescript, SQL (a little), html/css, xml. Desired position Anything oh god someone give me a job. Looking for a job I am a former journeyman carpenter/framer who is looking for new career paths or better/more opportunity for advancement/raises/benefits. In other words, for the right pay I'm willing to do just about anything, though I am very interested in law enforcement, geo-sciences (geology, hydrology, etc), possibly teaching. Location: Surrey, BC, Canada (Willing to relocate to Montgomery, AL region) Education: Some college coursework done, I'm very eager to go back and learn more, simply don't have the money. Experience: Six years in construction. I was a lead hand carpenter for a framing crew, I supervised and trained 4 to 5 others at a time in several instances. I also drove several telehandler forklifts (JLG - G10 55A and others) for 3 years. I am proficient in many hand and power tools. I have also done sundecks and patios and I am also experienced in renovations. I am currently finishing my own project of finishing my basement (1200sq ft) from start to finish: Framing, insulation/vapour barrier, drywall, mud/tape, painting, trim/moulding, hardwood floor, door install and carpet. My next project is going to be finishing the basement bathroom which will be its own adventure. Other Skills: I'm experienced with Open Office 3.0, the MS Office Suite, MS Projects, Visio and SmartDraw 2008. Looking for a job Since June of this year I have been working as a German-language translator/liaison interpreter for the IT department of a multinational producer of salon/haircare goods. Looking for a job Location: It's been my dream to move out of Michigan, so preferably a place that isn't MI. Education: High School Diploma, and some college. Taking 1-2 online classes at a time, five classes away from an associates degree. Experience I have four years of management positions under my belt, most recently I was an assistant branch manager for a bank. I was also a manager at two other retail chains. I was expected to manage 5+ employees for each job, and this includes hiring/firing, schedule making, dealing with customer complaints, etc... Just landed a great internship for the summer but I try and keep an eye on what skills are in demand since next fall starts my last year of my degree. I see some of you are spoilering your emails, that won't stop spiders like googlebot (they view everything in raw html). Looking for a Job Toronto/GTA HR Generalist/Trainer I have a double degree in Mechanical Engineering and English Literature. My degree course had a timeline of 4 years, but I attained this in 3 years. I have a Master's in English Literature from University College Dublin in Ireland. For the past two years I've been working on a cruise ship in the role of trainer, but essentially I was responsible for all of the HR functions for 900-1300 staff members. This job involved working 70 hours per week for anything from payroll to benefits and all facets of training. Training involved management training, software training, orientation and hospitality. English teaching was an essential part of the role as well as running a resource center for all staff members. I am TEFL certified, a licensed instructional designer from the American Maritime Organization and a certified Hospitality trainer. Before that I worked for three recruitment companies in Ireland and I was responsible for staffing functions as well as Business Development. I consistently hit 90% of my target and was lead consultant for my branch. Here's the cherry on top though: I am the hardest working person looking for a job in southern Ontario right now. No joke. Not just saying that. It's just a fact. Early mornings? I'm there. Night and weekends? Done. Need a presentation for some obscure software I've never heard of before, and you need it in 24 hours? I'll make your cue cards too, sir. I'm young, no baggage and a ton of student loans. I'll work 24 hours a day if you need. Transferable skills!(Yes, you too can be smarter than the average hiring manager) Writing - Instructional design is 90% writing, also my Master's required quite a bit. Editing - I wrote every single job advertisement while I was a recruiter myself. I also wrote several resumes for staff members on the cruise line. Translation - fluent in French and English. Spanish & Italian conversational (but this is Canada, so...) HR Functions - Employee relations and development, benefits analysis, hiring. Sales & Marketing - Essential in recruitment. Communications - PR pitches and campaigns are essentially presentations about the positive aspects of your business. I need to find a job before April. Job Opening This is kind of a super-unique position, and it's not entirely fleshed out, but if we found the right candidate it could be something we'd move on rather quickly. Basically, we're a small investment newsletter company, with a handful of analysts covering a variety of sectors. We currently have a commodity product that we have ghostwritten for us by a much larger firm. Frankly, the product really needs to be moved in-house, with an in-house commodity analyst who can handle daily, weekly and monthly editorial. So, the person we're looking for should have good writing skills, or at least somewhat competent writing skills - but more importantly they should be extremely well-versed in commodity investing. I'm talking everything: corn, iron, gold, oil, molybdenum, nat gas, soy beans, pokemon cards - basically anything you can think of that's traded on a commodity futures exchange. As far as qualifications and education background, that's kind of secondary to the above skill-sets. I don't care if you live in your mom's basement and dropped out of community college - if you know commodities (a track record would be nice) and you can prove a modicum of writing skill, that's all we need. The actual staff and company is filled with young people (the CEO just turned 30), and we all have a very strong work ethic. Higher degrees or high academic achievement can result in higher placement. This is a US Federal Government position. Full US citizenship required, plus a clean enough record to pass a Public Trust background check About the Job: The US Patent office is close to restarting hiring of new Patent Examiners (likely a few hundred openings). The position involves reading applications and claims to inventions, searching prior art databases, and writing reports about if an application complies with US Patent law. 6 month intensive training provided. Benefits including: Multiple health care plans to chose from Defined benefit pension + TSP (like a 401k, with very low fees) 40 hour workweek, paid overtime for extra work completed Flexible work schedule Mass transit subsidy (including anything that takes Metro's Smartrip, Virginia VRE, and Maryland MARC) After two years, potential for full-time telework Salary: Here's the table: http://apps.opm.gov/SpecialRates/package/table057601012010.html Most people will come in as a Grade 7, step 10 ($68k). If you have IP experience or a MS the start point is I think (not sure on this one) Grade 9 step 7 ($73k). My take about the job: First the cons: I'll be honest, this job isn't for everyone. The work is done on a rather aggressive quota system with a set number of hours per application, but you are pretty much on your own as far as keeping yourself on track. If you don't have trouble setting goals for yourself as to what work you will get done in a week, you should be fine. It involves a lot of reading, and a lot of playing with words to look for double meanings and such. I would recommend going on google patents and reading some patents on various things, paying particular attention to the claims. Oh, and nearly all of your communications regarding the applications will be with attorneys. For those of you who would have to move, note that the DC area is very expensive to live in. On the pro side: As long as you keep up with the quota you are pretty golden. The other Examiners are in generally very ready to help out if you have questions or run into a problem with an application. The promotions to higher positions are non-competitive merit based (meaning you don't have to fight somebody for the higher spot), all the way up to GS-14 with a $140k per year salary. And after 2 years and reaching GS-12 (normally two or three promotions away at hiring) you can work full time from home only checking in at the office for two days every two weeks. Federal benefits are nice, and Flextime is wonderful. Also there is some serious job security because there is an absurd backlog of applications to be examined. I was talking with someone about these positions coming up, and they noted that Electrical Engineers are rather strongly wanted. If you have particular experience with battery systems (charging, control, etc) please let me know via PM.  Update: Now actively looking! If anyone needs entry-level IT in Los Angeles or anywhere in the 310 area code, hit me up, or post in this thread. Right now I'm keeping my options open. Location: Los Angeles, 310 area code Position: entry-level IT: either Help Desk, Sys Admin Asst, Phone Support, or even a job in QA looks good at this point, given the state of the economy. Industry: Information Technology Education: Four-year college graduate, returning to school for additional computer repair courses, but I don't have the CompTIA A+ yet. Hopefully a kind-hearted goon knows that not all knowledge in a cert and can still can take me on, or knows someone who can. Looking for: An entry-level IT position where I can prove I can hit the ground running, and be an asset to your office. Currently working: A contract QA job, and looking for something more permanent. Experience: A solid work history you'd expect for someone a few years outta college, with some experience working QA. Enough that I'm looking for the lateral move into an IT-based position, so you know I won't just flake on you. Rehired for three jobs I've previously worked over the summer while attending college. I have the tech experience you'd expect from a goon; advanced with Microsoft Operating Systems (2000, XP, Vista, ect.) as well as Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook ect.) I also bring some experience with HTML, Flash, C++ and QBasic to the table. I'd even be willing to accept another contract QA job, but that's a second-string choice. HIRING: No opening yet, but I'm on the lookout for some IT talent for hiring in the next 2-3 mos. Need an IT janitor to do all the work I don't want to do. We're in the Pharmaceutical field, have about 200 people across the US, and are based in Rockville, Md. Not a bad commute from DC. The ideal candidate will have enough experience and customer service skills help me with helpdesk, but will also have opportunity to learn some systems admin skills and take over some of those duties as I start to trust you. I've been in the business a long time, and know my poo poo. If you're quick with the knowledge bases and can deal with carbon based lifeforms as well as silicone ones, send me a PM and we can discuss a strategy. It'll most likely start with part time work, but will become full time if you fit in. If you're all the janitor I'm looking for, you'll end up with around $50k a year until the company grows to the next phase. This could lead to manager level at some point. I don't care about education and certs, but be quick on your feet. I live in Fairfax. I might be interested in this position. I have 2.5 years of helpdesk/system admin skills. I've worked in large corporate environments (University supporting over 4,000 students, faculty, and staff), as well as independent work/independent contractor work. I speak and read Hindi and Urdu. I know poo poo about South Asia. I've also worked in a variety of office environments, including accounting. Jesus christ, why didn't I study science or some poo poo.
