I'm in Seattle, WA, have my BA in English from Virginia Tech, and am basically looking for anything I can get entry level in the area. I don't want to move geographically, but am more than happy to pick up any skills I need to find a real job. (Not food service)

Decent with HTML and Photoshop, proficient with Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
I also have some basic recording hardware and software experience, mostly in Sonar.

Currently working on learning SQL, and like I said, I'm flexible and willing to learn whatever I need to.

Knowledge in SQL will open up a lot of entry-level database jobs for you. When I started out at my current job that's all I did, writing SQL scripts to pull very refined lists of people based on medical history criteria. Since you say you're proficient at Excel/Word I'm guessing you have Microsoft Office Suite, if you have Access play around with that too. Create databases, pull info off those databases, learn how to normalize and create relationships and you'll be a hot commodity. Most companies don't actually use Access for their business database but it doesn't hurt to learn the basics in.

Openings: Database Campaign Specialist (Mostly SQL Writing)
Location: Madison, WI

Our marketing company is looking for someone with some SQL skills and a little knowledge of Linux. Knowledge of medical coding or Linux scripting is a plus. Basically you'd be getting medical campaign criteria, and writing SQL to pull a list of those qualified people out of the database. You'd then process that list and send to our mailshop. Good entry level position, with advancement opportunities to database maintenance and database development.

PM for more details, or email at redacted

I should also note that you don't need to be an expert at SQL, I had a two-week overview in school and a few semesters of other programming languages and picked it up rather quickly, it's easy to learn.

I kind of keep spamming this thread but we keep getting new openings and a bunch of you do seem to be applying. Anyways:

New Opening

Location: Madison, WI
Position: Account Manager

We just got a company-wide email saying we're in desperation mode for this opening and need to hire a bunch of people pronto. If you have any kind of sales experience, marketing sales preferred, you should think about applying. Something like ad agency, radio, newspaper, any kind experience in a marketing sales role is great.

This isn't an entry-level role, however if you have internships or just an outstanding resume or something it wouldn't hurt to apply.

Generally our account managers work with our various healthcare clients, and help bring in new healthcare clinics as new clients. I believe this is commissioned, and the size of the client can mean huge commissions. I don't know much else more than that.

Lastly, due to desperation-mode they ramped up the employee referral bonus so I'm going to say gently caress it and refer you, an absolute stranger. I can only do one referral so if there's interest from a couple people I'll only refer (who I deem) the best experienced candidate. My referral isn't a guaranteed job, but it helps. I apologize in advance if I can't refer you, it won't mean you don't get the standard phone interview or anything.

Let me know if you want to apply! PM me or email me at redacted

No, it's not Epic. We definitely get some of their burned out employees though.
