The team that I'm on has two openings. We work on infrastructure automation and ci/cd stuff primarily using terraform and azure devops. Full remote in the US is an option, but they have a preference for hiring in the region of their HQ. If you happen to be in Kansas City, you'll probably be required to do hybrid in-office at some point but that just got pushed back again. HR is being dumb about letting us use external recruiters so we haven’t seen a lot of good applicants. To answer the most common question I got in PM’s: I don’t know the official salary range. I make $120k as a Senior, the Lead will make more than that, the other position less. Yes it’s lower than figgieland money, but they’re a slow moving enterprise headquartered in the Midwest, the fact that we’re hiring remote at all is a big win.

Even though MO is a low CoL area, relatively speaking, you're underpaying for your requirements I say this as someone who works for a company also in MO that has been struggling to fill positions

I don't know if this applies to you but some states require having a business presence for tax purposes, and if you don't already have something like a retail store in that state, it may not be worthwhile to set one up for a single remote employee.

There's a lot of nonsense in the description, but if you have sre/devops like experience, are familiar with azure with a bonus of k8s experience, you'd be a good candidate

Hi, my org is hiring again: https://sjobs.brassring.com/TGnewUI/Search/home/HomeWithPreLoad?partnerid=25515&siteid=5710&PageType=JobDetails&jobid=3490553 Job is with our SRE team, which has no meaning anymore, but the actual responsibilities are to work with app teams to help them with infrastructure and build/release stuff. This team recently got a new manager whom I don't know much about but he seems nice and is trying to learn things quickly . Remote is possible, pay is probably low 6 figs, hq is in KC, the app teams you work with are usually 50/50 as far as state side/india engineers. Feel free to PM me

The hiring slump is absolutely affecting some sectors way worse than others, specifically "tech" companies and sv startups getting the worst of it, for exactly the reasons TIR laid out. That being said, my opinion on the best way to job search these days isn't to rely on linkedin or other job aggregators. Look for large orgs in industries that are still up, and apply directly on their job boards. Too many aggregator listings are stale or up for show, and any company that is large enough has an internal tech org.
