I spent the evening swapping out clipons and re-wiring the controls. The fzr controls were too picky so out they went. I've really grown to hate Yamaha wiring. Its really sad when the rover has a more reliable electrical system. The R1 cluster isnt wired. Its just there for mockup. cursedshitbox fucked around with this message at 07:19 on Jun 26, 2012 |

Rejetted the carbs on the Fzr and spent the past 2 days repairing the damage from moving across country. Filled it up with 100octane and threw on new tires. 3 more weeks until the new fairings arrive but I'm not waiting. Duct tape is a legit patch repair right?

there is fiberglass and plastic weld patches allover these fairings. After whateverthefuck hit it and destroyed pretty much the entire nose it was just not time effective to weld everything for a 70th time. For a while Duct tape made the airbox work.

Cleaned it up. new master link clip, tossed out the dead cooling fan relay, wired in a new nippon denso relay with a new switch. Lets see the fucker burn this one out. switch is a little more accessible now, and has a idiot light. Note to self: Don't trust lucas relays.

Apparently the old sprocket got bent in my move here. new steel sprocket instead of aluminums, and a rivet type master link. Woot for dirtbike parts. Ugh. LOVE the new gearing at 2.89. the old sprocket was a 3.08 final. bonus shot of partner taking it out for a spin. drat him for having a matching suit. I'm gonna take aircraft stripper to the wheels next. I spraybombed the front, and hated it. the white finish is trashed on these from being so old.

Boatsides are a thing for rock buggies and other 4x4 vehicles. I started on a boatsided plate for quasimoto. Stupid bastard has danglies that hang out all over under the frame, and I'm a retard that puts it on rocks.

Ha! Exactly. Fucker does good to run at its 160* or whatever stupidly low thermostat it has. I didn't see the point to have it littered with speed holes because that defeats the loving purpose of a skid. I know what a overheating bike feels like, this ain' it.

Pulled the (dead) engine! http://imgur.com/a/nGrwe Looks like dumbass that did the install forgot the gudgeon pin retainers. one thing led to another and wham bam thank you mam. can't really tell in the pics but the bore is cracked on both sides, the cylinder is cracked through on one, and halfway on the other. Counter balancer shaft is bent like my dick. PO cut the cluster wiring, and had no idea what the mileage was, I wired it back up for curiosities sake.

Collateral Damage posted:You can't say that without posting the gory details. http://imgur.com/a/B5I6m (pics of my busted bloody rear end face inside) buddy of my manager clipped my turd. throttle got stuck widefuckass open launching me into a dirt curb throwing the bike up (85' from impact) and me another 15' from where it landed. Notweorthy broken poo poo: bars, forks, tank, rear subframe, right rack mount, rear pegs, right peg, skid plate bent. engine ran wide rear end open (no rev limit) with out oil (topside down) and floated the valves wrecking the engine. Bike was facing 180* of travel and went through some big rear end brushes and took out a sapling with its big fat rear end. HID headlight still works.
