After riding this guy today I'm done with full fairing sport bikes. I'll also be bringing it home in a month or two, getting a killer deal on it. cant remember if its a 01 or 02, yz250.

That would be the plan is to bust rear end around the city and do little stuff with it. My fzr is just too cantankerous for short runs. I wanna say it has a larger tank on it, but a 40 mile fillup is about on par with my rover. I may track it. of course I said that about the fzr thats always getting worked on.

First trip out. 160 mi. I was quite surprised to find out It'll do 90. My friends claim it smells like cooking bacon. Now to do fork seals, gently caress with the carb some more, and put a better rectifier on it.

CA is so drat weird. If I move back I can keep the 250 tagged, but the 04 yz450f isn't allowed a tag there. NV? Yeah don't care, give us money. Best part? I can swap wheels between the two bikes. two sumos for the price of one.

02s were 426es. 03s were 450s. E: I'd avoid any yz/wr from this year. 04 is ok. You might be able to retrofit said E start from a 450 onto your 426. I know the later yz cases had casting bosses for a starter even. My YZ starts on the first or second kick every time. get the jetting right and it'll save you much frustration. . You can also plop a 450 piston/cylinder on it for a little extra power. Price is a little on the highside, but you can probably talk the dude down. fwiw: I paid 1500 for my 99. cursedshitbox fucked around with this message at 02:27 on Jul 4, 2014 |

My yz250 ticked all these boxes. Pity it didn't like hot rear end desert temps. Its okay to build a fat slow supermoto right guys? RIGHT?

haha no. the 200w one is more than enough. I've the hid model so its 42w.(Actually 35, fuckers). I've heated grips too. I do however run a mosfet rectifier. No power issues with it yet, even idling in traffic. I didn't pay 550 for mine either. I bought it off Clist last year for the klr, after it got crashed it was the first loving thing I removed from it.
