Replaced the alternator belt, this has to add at least 30 hp!

HKS belt from Japan, cost about 1/10 of what I paid for the car.

Got a new block delivered from Lithuania, now the engine shop just wants $2300 for parts and labor and the bottom end internals should be all good.

Well, that's done. Had to do the timing belt twice, I forgot the water/air pipes for the turbo and the plastic bracket behind the timing belt.

Fitted new, stainless injector sockets in the inlet manifold. Custom bits, had to port a little bit of the casting in the IM to get them to fit.

I also bought an new oil cooler, as if this project isn't costing me all my money as it is.

Waiting for some more parts to come in the mail before I can put this stuff on.

I also gave my local Audi tuner my ECU so that he can reprogram it for 440ccm injectors.

Here's one of his cars:

What injectors are you running? I seem to remember 034 had a set of bungs that adapted from the mega pricey CIS-E injectors to GM style truck injectors.

Bosch 968s. They're a straight fit mechanically, you just need a remap of the ECU.

Water manifold: I had a new oil pressure sender, but I managed to break off the threaded part.

Fitted the downpipe, AC compressor, PS pump, aux water pump, inlet manifold and other little bits and pieces. Also, new connectors for the injectors, because I found some in a drawer at work.

I also got some electric adjusters for the head lamp. Strange that they weren't there, as all the wiring and the switch was present.

Throttle body, radiator, air filter box, Provent 200 and various other small bits fitted. I always think "Hey, these Audis ain't too bad, I don't understand why everyone thinks they're a pain to fix," then I mount the radiator...

Hoping to get her started probably next week.

Still to come: Intercooler, auxilliary radiator, pressure piping and high blood pressure!

Does anyone have any tips for cleaning out an intercooler? I've tried regular degreaser and a whole lot of water. I think I got most of the oil out of it, but now I'm worried about the degreasing liquid left inside. I'm thinking about filling it up with petrol and letting it sit overnight.

About 416HP and 564Nm from the engine (calculated), 313HP/423Nm at the wheels. Not bad from a stock turbo.
