i would not be too terribly surprised if TAS call it quits before long. vincent is 40, how long does he want to tour out of a van. replacing a drummer after 18 years is a bitch. devin and griffin have kids now. recon mike only just joined the band, poor bastard, lol. the It Comes In Waves/Failure Will Follow pairing seems like what the band wants to be doing and they put out Slow Decay and Step Into The Light as the "dayjob" albums (not that they're not good, they rule). who knows. sure am glad i have better lovers now with ETID gone and (possibly) TAS winding down

The Acacia Strain seemed in VERY good spirits the whole show. Lots of positivity - maybe they're stoked that their tour is finally over. iirc they basically had 2 days off since June 29th

Keith is so good and he sounds amazing on the new song which isn’t a surprise. Musically I don’t super vibe with it but maybe it’ll grow on me. I don’t like Greg Puciato’s vocals nearly as much as I like Keith’s but i do like him and I think he makes a lot of sense with Better Lovers and I’ve really enjoyed the four songs they’ve got out so far

The Spiritbox is a lot heavier than I've come to expect from them anymore, I dig it.

Many Eyes single "Revelations" officially dropped today too. Keith sounds incredible, dude has zero rust from his ETID days. The song's definitely an earworm, I'm listening to it a lot today. Stoked to check out more from the new band.

That Many Eyes track is good, but that's entirely because Keith is a good vocalist/lyricist. The music is meh, at best. Seeing Better Lovers again tonight really solidifies my thinking they're the "better" band. I don't love Greg as their frontman, but I do think he's better love than Keith, and by a decent margin, even if I like his less on record. And BL's live show brings all the same energy that I loved about ETID. I would be SHOCKED if Many Eyes will be able to bring it nearly as hard

Edit: also, those new tracks all fuggin rule

Yeah I agree with basically all of this. Many Eyes has Keith but musically sounds kind of like upper tier buttrock. I’ll definitely check out the full Many Eyes album but I’m nowhere near as stoked on them as I am on Better Lovers.

e: Many Eyes posted on their IG that "Revelations" had been added to the rotation on Octane which confirms buttrock status, lol

Video is fine. Song has grown on me but the music still sounds like a royalty-free rock and metal track from the YouTube Audio Library.

that's definitely how i feel about it. i enjoy any vocals keith has ever or will ever do, but the music is definitely generic octane rock. i'll listen to the album to enjoy his vocals but i'm not expecting much in general.

I really dig it actually. Feels very 90s/2000s alt rock in a way that's distinct from The Damned Things or any of ETID's softer tracks, and Keith sounds fantastic. It may be his best clean singing performance, especially during the bridge. I wouldn't be mad if the full album leans more in this direction.

100% agree with all of this. I played the track with my wife in the car and she was digging it too and she is not a heavy music enthusiast, she said it made her think of Soundgarden and Nirvana, I kept hearing Filter. I really like the song it is like uncalled for amounts of catchy. Keith sounds so good on all three of the Many Eyes songs that I'll likely end up having all of them grow more on me once my brain stops expecting it to be Every Time I Keith. I have Better Lovers to scratch the ETID itch. Happy to have both bands to look forward to.

new ERRA full length is out today and I'm enjoying it a lot. they managed to lean into their groove but not just make Self Titled 2. this record is soft as baby poo poo lmao. i still like fury and the fallen ones and returners so i can at least keep listening to those but yeesh. octane-core

thinking about this has actually bummed me out a little, lol. bands change and poo poo happens. but they say your musical tastes are more or less solidified in your 20s, which i have found pretty accurate (i'm 42). it's super uncommon for a new band to do much for me, and as time goes on, more and more of the bands i have loved either call it quits (etid, misery signals, it dies today) or turn to poo poo (parkway drive, ghost inside), and metalcore as a genre now just seems like a sea of laptop bands. i'm just washed and complaining. glad i still have the acacia strain (although i have this feeling they're going to be hanging it up before all that much longer) and better lovers. maybe it's time for my classic rock era
