Sorry to butt in, but I wondered if anyone would be interested in the complete Achewood in PDF files? I don't know what the rules concerning that might be. I've been lurking here on and off for a few years now, and it looks like the complete canon might not make it after all. Content I have collected: All graphics re-worked and upscaled to 4x size for future-proofing All strips with alt-text, story arcs bookmarked in PDFs All alternate endings, errata Ray's place Subscriber stuff - 2002, '03, '04 including Mother F***ing Vodka Day, complete Nate Small. Hug Hog strip (post wedding) Blogs interleaved in chronological order as they appear on the web Book texts - Prologue, A History of Achewood, Before we were Achewood, Clowns with benefits GOF extra non-strip text - Recipes, Fight history, Profiles in Strength, Glossary Five extra GOF strips/panels from the book Stanford Chaparral pieces 2005's Chicken Recipe strip Facebook in-character posts Twitter in-character posts All GOF posters Both Dark Horse strips - One Dollar Genius (2008) and The Garage Sale (2009) Colour updated strips - Ray gets sort of stoned, Comic Sans et al Spin magazine special 2012 Cornelius interview for Time Magazine, Nov 17, 2009 Mashups and Tributes to Achewood "Griddle of our Sorrowful Mentor" panel. Any takers?

I remember when I subscribed, the guy who was running it for Onstad up and died, but continued to collect subs at like £12 a year. I never got access to those archives either. It's unlikely that archive.org will have them too, as they were behind a paywall. Still, if anyone has any clues... But thanks, I can better direct my searches now.

I'd not put the whole lot into one volume though - 2004 alone weighs in at what, about 450 pages? The whole thing would be a mammoth tome.

I never noticed before the PDF compilations, but while most of the other supplemental material fits in chronologically with the strip this has Ray bouncing back and forth between being home and in Australia (and waiting a month for his flight to take off). There's some other blogs also that don't quite seem to fit, so I'm guessing that Chris had stories on the back burner and uploaded them when he was short on realtime stuff? That said, if there are any corrections that you feel would make more sense then I'm open to re-working the timeline. Also if I've just straight-up gotten stuff wrong then again, speak up.

I saw someone on Ars refer to it as "Schrodinger's AI - Simultaneously incapable of producing anything of value, while taking every job that has any value" It's here and it's not gonna go away no matter how much we resist it. These things never do. I suppose the bright side is that no artist will ever have to debase themselves to the level of furry porn again, it's quite nice that the AI has given us that.

Strange Cares posted:Yeah without anything to replace it, what you're saying is that you're glad that a lot of artists will no longer be able to support themselves off of their art. A friend of mine is basically only able to pay rent and live a comfortable life because of the extra work they get off of commissions from internet perverts. Apparently no one pays like furries do, and they tend to even tip. As opposed to every other job making art, which is "do work for us for free and eat dirt and then thank us for the privilege, you slime." Yes but the upside is they don't have to make furry porn anymore.
