Sure, if you have your MSA from a really good school as opposed to a crappy one, it is going to look better. However, the main reason (around here in MA, anyway) why people get their MSA is to get enough credits to become certified. Some people, such as myself, had enough extra credits from undergrad to take a couple of additional courses after graduation and not having the MSA hasn't hurt me a bit.
