The 4-inch-by-5-inch tintype shows Billy the Kid in the summer of 1878. It may have been taken at a wedding, and he is alongside several members of his gang, The Regulators, according to the firm.

For the folks who enjoy photojournalism, here is a fun recap by the Guardian on the year in photojournalism. Unsuprisingly, there is a significant focus on the European refugee crisis, but the list also includes a number of other, less depressing and interesting photos. http://www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/2015/dec/27/the-best-photographs-of-2015-in-pictures Interestingly, they did not include the photo of Alayn Kurdi that went viral and included a different photo of the same scene from when his body was being recovered.
