Yes on the former, kinda on the latter. I thought you were saying iPhone and/or web dev, not iPhone and web dev. If that's the case then I'm probably not your guy.

I'm looking for someone affordable to finish off a half done wordpress template cutup after my clients useless oDesk contractor ran off with the cash and didnt finish the job.

PM me for details. Its not too hard, but it needs to be affordable. We can discuss the definition of "affordable" in PM. If your good some better paid work will be coming to you after that the client hasnt premised on cutting labor-cost corners. (We have a bunch of stuff racked up, so someone whos regularly available can make some decent coin of this)

He was pointing out the dichotomy in saying "present skills less important than problemsolving" then listing a bunch of required skills.

Its fairly common boiler plate for "If you don't have quite this skillset, send in a resume anyway", basically as a backup in case no-one has that skillset.

Which is a bit redundant here, since lamp stacks are the NATO standard of the web world.

Developers targeting the LAMP stack only needs to concern themselves with the "MP" part - the L and the A are interchangable for {{B,W,M},{A,I,L}} respectively unless the web application has specific system requirements (which immediately makes it suspect - if a PHP application is calling system() then something really bad is going on).

Your kind of missng my point here.

Okay getting tired of underwhelming applicants. The problem with being a Rails shop is you get people who know Rails and nothing else. So how's this for a different sort of ad.

Software Dev

Frameworks: Rails

Perks: Relaxed as gently caress Kiwi workplace, smart people who give a poo poo, and you get to live in Middle Earth

Official posting here but it runs out so contact me if you want.

Yes, we can help with immigration/relocation to varying extents depending on the person. We have folks from Asia, South America, Europe, and yes the US. You'd have to be worth it, so please don't waste our time.

If you want to talk about compensation/lifestyle expectations or whatever, PM me. In general it won't pay as much as Cali or NY, but it's a very relaxed work environment that will allow you to live in a socialist paradise with real healthcare and progressive policies on marriage equality (yes), guns (no), and immigration (residents can vote). And you know, lovely loving scenery.

If I already know you from IRC or whatever, I can probably give you a personal referral, so hit me up.

Throw something like Java or C# into the mix to sift out people who haven't properly learned to think Object Oriented. I'd say throw in Haskell to sift out those without a decent academic background but you'd miss some pretty talented older coders too.
