Have you ever snorted angel dust with your dickhole? Like the idea of punching a Great White Shark... while you're naked? Ever wanted to reach out to the other side and tell Paul Walker "Dude, I totally had you, and even your Mom doesn't miss you." Feel like doing something along those lines? Get on a Super Duke 990.

"partial baffle delete" - translation, "I took a piece of rebar and slammed it around in the can for a few minutes, then turned it over and everything rattled out"?

I've ridden a 990 SuperDuke, and they are a ton of fun, but Z3n is right as usual. Given how hard this ad is trying I'd probably stay far, far away

No mileage listed and the price is low, so either it's got a ton of miles or it's a scam, but I sent a message to see what I get anyway. Reverse image search didn't turn up anything, so who knows.

It doesn't read like a scam. I'd say he's got a lot of miles on it and is probably sick of replacing the electronic Ohlins doodads every other year.

31k miles, needs the 30k service including valves, belts, gaskets, plugs, fluids. Price for that service, assuming nothing extra crops up, varies between $700 and $900 depending on the dealer/service department.

Think I may bide my time and see what else pops up

Yeah if it just needs a standard service, that seems like a decent deal.

I'm pretty skeptical about the Ohlins electronic parts though. It's a cool setup but they plagued the early 1200s with suspension failures and Duc quickly replaced it with their own Skyhook system.

Me too. There is no Duc dealer inside an hour's drive and I don't own a trailer, which also has me a bit iffy about it.

In other news, one of the former Japanese-only dealers 5 miles from my house just snagged someone's KTM license though, and they have a 2015 Super Adventure on the floor AND one of the new SDGTs. Saw one of the 1190s on the road the other day and it looked pretty damned good, so I may go see what kind of end-of-season deal they'd cut to make room for more dirt bikes and quads.

signing up for an advrider account is 100% worth it - the forum is very active, there are a ton of great trip reports with beautiful pictures, product and bike reviews, "how do I do X" type threads, and the flea market/for sale area has good finds on the regular.

The link in question is for a bright yellow 2003 Italjet Dragster 50cc 2-smoke w/ a Leo Vince GP pipe

Jazzzzz

I was actually just doing that while you posted!

50cc two stroke in excellent condition. Leo Vince GP pipe. Titled and plated in Oregon, 1686 miles, runs great, needs nothing. $2500

Seller says he'll help with shipping

It probably works differently in California since everything else there does, but usually the title stays with the frame so the motor theoretically shouldn't matter. No idea how that works with inspections if you do a swap like this though. There's always the South Dakota registration loophole if the CA BMV shits on you.

Registration aside, $10K for that bike is nuts. I can't imagine it's easy to ride, either.

I know some old 2Ts that were designed for the street had a separate oil tank but even still I think I'd rather premix. If the line from that tank clogged or whatever = bad stuff.

If you put the oil in the gas tank before you fill up, the gas pump will do most of the mixing for you, no paint shaker routine required

The only real wear parts on that Empulse are the tires, brakes, and batteries, the latter being the only part that might be difficult to replace as they age and don't hold as much of a charge. For 6 large I'd be all over that thing.

Why is it nearly every Grom ad I come across on CL lists the bike for MSRP or even higher? e.g. https://cincinnati.craigslist.org/mcy/6170347072.html

"I'm $4200 into this bike after taxes and fees, looking to get $4200 or as near as possible"

In Ohio you pay sales tax on a vehicle when you title it, so whoever bought that would have to pay MORE tax on it than buying new, not to mention covering the original buyer on dealer fees, etc. This is dumber than the SV with original tires listed for $5K.
