Come on bro, what's a little (lot) of debt between you and a trendy, rapidly-depreciating asset?

But seriously, I too am amazed at how many new 60k+ cars and trucks I see on a daily basis. I'm not filthy rich, but I do pretty well and have no kids/debts, and I still wouldn't buy a 60k car. And if I did buy a 60k car, it sure as poo poo wouldn't be some luxo-truck or posh SUV like 80% of the expensive crap I see.

I just assume the vast majority are on leases?

I would assume so, but leasing a 60k+ car still isn't cheap. Even a "good" lease deal on something at that price would be in the $600-800/mo range.

Yeah I looked up an Escalade and its 5k down and 1 k a month. Dear god. $41k over three years.

Nada says a 2013 base Escalade with 30k miles is between $37k-42k for trade in value.

Yeah CUVs are really nice "station wagons" and fill that niche.

euphronius
Feb 18, 2009

CUVs come with seating for 7 ( well 5 adults and 2 kids).

The reason I bought a cuv and not a minivan though is that I think the Sienna is the only minivan with AWD. AWD is important to people and not really found on minivans.

I agree but I was not the one making the AWD mandatory decision.

I drive tons rental cars.

The v6 Impala has been the best (the new model not the limited) except is is "floaty" I don't know exactly how to describe that but sometimes I feel like I'm floating off the road.

The Altima is tied for best after that imho.
