Write the cataloging details on a slip of acid-free paper and tuck it into the book so it sticks up with the information visible. Also sprinkle your library with random bear facts

Ras Het posted:The answer to that question very much depends on what you're looking for. Fantasy novels, nonfiction, classics, misery porn, harlequin, sports sagas? For most purposes Goodreads is probably fine Goodreads is mostly fine. I have not yet had a good recommendation from its "suggested because you read X" algorithm though, and classic books tend to get lower overall ratings because of sooper smart online readers who "don't get all the hype"

Annual United Way book sale is on. I browsed the shelves for potential gems among the Ian Rankin cast offs and obligatory copies of Future Shock and walked off with A hardcover of Lincoln in the Bardo (I already have it but got it to give to a friend), hardcover of Barney's Version and softcovers of Foucault's Pendulum (have not read this in forever) and Solomon Gursky Was Here so it was kind of a Mordecai Richler sort of afternoon. $6 total

Spiritus Nox posted:For lack of a better place to put this - has anyone here ever had issues reading manga in the Nook app? I keep getting an Unsupported Document Error trying to read a manga I bought on their own store, and the app's suggestion of uninstalling/reinstalling both the book and the app itself proved useless. I think it has something to do with this specific manga being listed as a "book" instead of as a "comic" like the other manga I've bought - think the app's expecting it to be in a different format than it is and breaking. Anybody run into this before? Know of a fix? there is an entire forum dedicated to animes and mangers you'd probably get better help there

Darlene has brought a couple-three more candy jars down off of the shelf, and now he goes plunging, like a journey to the center of some small, hostile planet, into an enormous bonbon chomp through the mantle of chocolate to a strongly eucalyptus-flavored fondant, finally into a core of some very tough grape gum arabic. He fingernails a piece of this out from between his teeth and stares at it for a while. It is purple in color. ps be mine

Five New Yorkers must come together to save their city, which has literally come to life, in a story that’ll give you “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” vibes. Its an expansion of that short story from When is Black Future Month isn't it? Too bad, it was a nice self contained story as is
