On a similar note, was Pantheon Season 2 officially released anywhere in the world or is the only reason most of us were able to see it because someone leaked it online?

The_Doctor posted:I thought Netflix’s MO used to be commissioning a number of episodes up front, sometimes covering the entire show. If memory serves, She-Ra was done that way, with the show having been complete for a couple of years as episodes were dropped in seasons. Though I believe Seasons 2 and 3 were originally intended to be a single season (and it kind of shows) but Netflix split them up for some reason

Speaking of, are any of the Avatar novels besides Kyoshi any good? Also Kyoshi taking over Aang and just wrecking poo poo up was one of the highlights of the live action series to me On the same note, the Netflix series also included something from the comics (the Mother of Faces first appeared in The Search) as well as something from Korra (the Fog of Lost Souls) Larryb fucked around with this message at 18:02 on Feb 28, 2024 |

Which makes sense considering the one time Aang talked to her. I enjoyed that story. There’s apparently a Roku book coming out at some point (as well as another Korra graphic novel)

Dawgstar posted:Looking at the two I feel like the showrunners for LA Avatar understand the core idea beyond 'cool fights and funny dialogue' which are present in both the originals. Cowboy Bebop's did not. Its showrunners seemed to not understand there's a lot of commentary in Bebop. As well as an appreciation for the lore as LA Avatar pulls from other sources such as Korra and the comics/novels. Meanwhile, Cowboy Bebop seemed largely soulless with its only real saving grace being its cast (sucks for Ed’s actor though, that was one of their first and only credits)

Zooming in a bit, the new Avatar kind of looks like an Earth Kingdom soldier as well. Assuming this is legit I wonder what era this series will take place in (Korra had kind of a Roaring 20’s vibe going on, right down to the recaps being in the format of old timey radio broadcasts)

Apparently the show is real (and I’m not even 100% sure about that) but the image is not (it’s a piece of fanart that’s been circulating around the internet for a little while). No official images of the new series have been uncovered yet nor do we know the gender of the new Avatar

a neat cape posted:I think if Korra had been greenlit for all four seasons at the beginning, the writing would probably be better. Yeah, it was originally supposed to be a one and done series but Nick ordered more seasons so they kind of had to make some stuff up as they went along (hence why Korra’s character seems to regress suddenly in Season 2) Though ironically Nick is also responsible for killing the show (by the end of its run it was airing almost exclusively online)

So how is Bluey while we’re on the subject, is it just a pure kids show or is there stuff older audiences can enjoy as well (and if the former, how’s the writing? There’s a few 90’s cartoons I’ve revisited that still hold up after all)?
