Yeah seriously why is she on? I mean it'd be fine if they didn't keep going on about it but they are so it isn't.

Re: panel shows, do they have them in America? We had one over at the weekend and we watched hignfy and wilty on the iplayer and he loved them so much I'm surprised he didn't crawl over to the telly and lick it. It didn't occur to me to ask him whether that format had caught on in the states.

No, whenever this gets asked people always say they have trouble with the concept of points/winning meaning nothing and just playing to make the audience laugh seems weird to them.

He used the racial slur "Polack" to describe immigrant Poles, arguing that "if England is not the land of milk and honey it appeared to them three or four years ago, then, frankly, they can clear off out of it".

Quick question: do channels like Sky Living get to ignore the watershed or something? I was watching a pre-watershed episode of CSI earlier this week and it was pretty gory for lunch-time TV (it's the episode Quentin Tarantino directed, rated 15 on DVD). Were they allowed to show it unedited, or did somebody screw up?

I think they do, Sci Fi or Syfy as it's called now show some pretty hosed episodes of X Files, Angel and Buffy. They edit language or sexual references sometimes but then you'll see someone with a shard of glass shoved in their eye walking around or whatever at lunchtime.

Big Fat Quiz of the Year keeps going worse year by year. The ones 3-4 years ago were really good.

09 was good, that was Brooker and Mitchell, Ross and Brand and the last team was 50% good with Winkleman and Mcintyre (Claudia Winkleman is seriously funny as hell when she gets to cut loose on these programs, maybe that's just me).

However I think if I'd been in charge of last nights one I would have just binned it and started over, jesus. 50% of one team being bad is manageable but not 50% of the entire show.

So now they're advertising new Being Human, feels like that happened very quickly but then I suppose it was January last year Series 3 started. New vampire obviously and looks like it's going to be about George, Nina and the baby. So that vampire lord who swore to murder them all right there if they didn't do what he said in fact didn't do that. I think I'm going to find it hard to take him seriously as a threat in this series if he's the antagonist.

Not really UK TV specific but is anybody else on Lovefilm? I just got a subscription and the first 2 discs they sent me are barely functioning, multiple scenes where they freeze and I have to skip through them. Is that pretty common or was I just unlucky? At least the BBC instant watch section is pretty substantial.

I thought it was the other way round? That QI episode was 2 or 3 years ago and the documentary where she goes to the puppet graveyard was only on a few months ago. When she was on the Richard Herring Fringe podcast she was talking about it as if it was recent anyway, suppose she could have filmed it years ago though. She was quite good on that podcast.

Have you watched You Have Been Watching or The Bubble? The former is Charlie Brooker quizzing 3 panel show regulars about telly and the other is 3 celebrities get put in a house for a week with no phones or anything then David Mitchell asks them to try and answer questions about what happened while they were inside. That one isn't amazing but You Have Been Watching is pretty awesome.

Hey with Lovefilm do they start getting shirty if you report a lot of discs aren't working? Just asking because about half the discs I've gotten in the past month have been scratched up and stopped working at some point (usually just when the film/episode is reaching it's dramatic high point) and while they've been good about sending another plus something else from my list I'm worried they'll cut me off at some point even though they're all genuinely not working.

Does anyone remember an insect based computer animated cartoon? Would have been when I was 7 or 8 I think so 1995ish maybe? Everyone in the cast spoke with a British accent and it had a very British sense of humour, it was called something like Insectosaurs or Insectoids and I think the theme tune was them repeating whatever the name of it was over and over again. Anyone know what the gently caress I'm thinking of? It's been driving me nuts the past few days trying to remember it.

It's probably just a fun little christmas thing they've decided to make to make a big deal of the fact that taskmaster is now on C4 this year so they picked some more unusual guests than they would for a full series.

I feel like if they put comedians who hadn't already been on Taskmaster before in a one off special thing people would be moaning that they'd wasted them on a one off thing so this is probably a better way to go.
