So I downloaded the latest CM nightly for the Incredible. Having the widgets in the status bar pulldown is neat but it doesn't have everything switchpro has.

For instance, I can toggle lockscreen, but can't get to a shortcut to toggle pattern lock. I also can't choose to use speakerphone.

Did they download but not install? Did they not even download?

If they didn't download then try toggling airplane mode on/off and see what happens. Or, clear market data instead.

Sorry I'm asking here instead of researching myself, I'm pretty busy.

But does anyone have an incredible and use MIUI? Any problems with it a la CM 6's camcorder FC?

Doctor Butts
May 21, 2002

I had to reinstall CM from a wipe since everything blew up on my phone (FC's out the rear end, for EVERYTHING).

Anyway, now that I've got everything up and running, Messaging is not displaying my texts in sequential order.

At first I thought it was reverse order (newest on top, instead of bottom), now it looks like the sender's are on top, while mine are on the bottom.

Actually, holy poo poo... I just looked at the messages again...

They ARE in sequential order. For some reason its showing the wrong time that the messages have been received! For instance, its showing the sender's messages exactly 5 hours behind. However, my clock on phone is correct. It's almost as if it's not adjusting for GMT (even though we're both on the same network, in the same timezone, the same house!) Or something. But I can't tell what it really is.

Anyone know what could be causing this?

I mean, I didn't back up any of my MMS. These are new. I'm trying to search for calendar stuff for timestamps/timezones but I can't find any so far.

Thanks for trying though! I appreciate it!

Doctor Butts

I guess I should have been more specific,
I can't find the options to turn off the clock/turn on/off battery percentage in the notification bar.

Correct. They have not been ported over from CM6 yet. Since GB has a new notification bar set up we can reasonably assume that there were major framework changes since 2.2 and porting hacks that relied on framework stuff is going to be delayed.

Thanks!

Also, in the spirit of notification bar clock removal and changing your battery icon, here's some flashable files for DINC users...

http://mattyg.me/cm7/

nandroid first of course.

edit: let me test them out first..
edit 2: was able to install both of them on my incredible through rom manager/didn't even wipe dalvik

If you don't like the battery meter/clock in CM7, and have an incredible

This link has flashable packages to install a circle battery meter/percentage and remove the clock.

I found this on XDA in the Incredible Dev forum. Perhaps you non-Incredible users have something similar going on for your device.

I'm only saying this is for incredible because I have no idea if it works for other cm7 devices. So, try at your own risk or research.

I did a nandroid backup just in case, but I didn't even wipe the dalvik cache and everything went fine- but your mileage might vary.

New Ultimate Online Theme Kitchen v3 is up, at new website:

Apparently it now supports gingerbread! So, hooray to not having to rely on mattyg to release a new circle battery for every new cyanogenmod v7 nightly.

I'll test this out when I get home, and let you know the results if you want to wait.

I tried searching google, xda, and I can't figure out why Netflix doesn't work on the latest CM nightly for the incredible. I can launch it, log in, but after a few seconds i get dumped back to the homescreen. It is still listed on my recent apps, but when I click on it, it takes me back to login.... rinse/repeat.

I've tried fixing permissions, rebooting, moving to sd card. Still can't get around it.

Hey I might have to get my phone replaced and, as a verizon customer I've been using the incredible which was ready to root and s_off.

Are any of the newer verizon phones as easy to root? I'd prefer an htc.phone and amoled but if that's not realistic I'd like to know.

If you're asking about HTC phones with AMOLED, there hasn't been one since the Inc switched over to SLCD. Only Samsung phones have AMOLED right now.

And unfortunately, the rooting picture isn't too pretty on Verizon right now. Nothing will come close to the original Incredible; Moto devices of course have their locked bootloaders, as does the Incredible 2. The only truly cracked devices right now are the Charge, which of course has all the usual Samsung fun, and the Thunderbolt, which shows the most promise right now.

That's depressing. Oh well. Sorry about the strange sentence sometimes swype is odd.

I really hate the miui calendar. More specifically: how it makes you slide up and down to choose a day/month/whatever. I hate it because I always slide it too far one way, too far the other, and it takes forever to enter that stupid loving appointment.

I much preferred the stock calendar's plus and minus to choose a day/time. Is there anyway to get that old calendar back on a miui rom?

Doctor Butts
May 21, 2002

I think I'm ready to go back to Cyanogen from MIUI. MIUI is loving beautiful and such with all the themes you can get (so not all menus are basic black). It just gets way too finicky and everything starts force closing after a while.

I might even try a sense-like rom this time around. Any suggestions from a fan of CM7 what a good sense-ish rom would be?

I have an Incredible.

I think you'd have to follow the android app thread really closely for 'must have apps'

I think that the android world moves too fast and the market has exploded to the point where it would probably take a lot more work than what people are willing to do in order to keep the wiki updated.

Anyway, patiently waiting for CM9 for the Incredible. I'd love to find a port of ICS for this phone, but I'm not willing to do the same digging/experimenting/flashing stuff that I was willing to do back when I first got the phone.

I want the features, but I need it to work completely, too.

New ICS build for CDMA Razr came out:

Apparently has a lot of optimizations and fixes some bugs. Note: This isn't like the custom ICS ROMs out for the Razr that chug like crazy because they can't use hardware acceleration, this is an official (test) build. I've been running the previous version for a couple weeks and it works great.

Also, this could very well be the final build that they put out since it matches the file size on Verizon's update schedule: http://www.droid-life.com/2012/04/26/verizon-device-update-schedule-leaks-in-full-rezound-razr-and-xoom-details-emerge/

Probably want to avoid it for now, it seems that installing the new ICS leak will screw up fastboot restores for some users, making it impossible to downgrade back to the official releases. Like most things with Android, though, there'll probably be a workaround some time soon.

I'll probably avoid it for now, but thanks for looking it up and keeping us/me posted. I'd love ICS, but only when its ready.

Has anyone been able to find a CMDA (Verizon) CM9 or 10 ROM for the Droid Razr? I figured things would get 'better' once the official ICS OTA went out, but it seems CM9/10 for the Razr is a pipe dream.

mr. bubbles, I think on xda they have some oem roms you can revert too if that happens. I had problems rooting/installing the OTA myself and I had to revert to the oem rom or whatever it is a few times before I got it working.

Yea I've been trying to check out 2 or 3 of the threads on XDA for this, and its been pretty underwhelming.

I'm also pretty intimidated with it because half the roms seem to be "this will only work if you used x root method. If you used y's root method, your phone will blow up and you will die".

This is not as awesome as the Droid Incredible where I just had to root it once, and Rom Manager did everything. It doesn't even seem like anyone cares to do anything about the Razr :/

But, the razr isn't terrible and then again I got this phone for 40$ when it came out.

Please note that I have no idea what the gently caress I'm talking about and my base of knowledge is pretty much limited to "following directions." For all I know these roms could be turning my phone into someone's mobile porn server. Many of those changes basically read NEW AND IMPROVED: NOW WITH MORE GOOD! to me. Other than the debloating, I don't know what the changes do or how they help. I added question marks behind the ones that I don't understand. If someone wants to explain what they do, I'd appreciate it.

That said, I followed this process to update to the leaked JB OTA. It claims to keep root, it thinks it keeps root, but it doesn't. I had to apply this fix to get it back, but I'm rooted again. I added the latest version of safestrap, and put the Rage rom in the normal way.

I'm really interested in this group's AOKP project.. Their ICS Rom was indeed slick poo poo, but for some reason I could only get a 3G signal off it. They're also compiling RAZR nightlies for CM10 and AOSP.

Thanks. I didn't have a chance to update my post to include I found what seemed to be a pretty detailed description of how to do all this nonsense, on the droidrzr.com forums. I'd put up a link but its on my phone and I forget my SA password

Motorola's JB implementation is drat nice... kinda tempted to just leave it, because its not slow and bloaty like most default implementations (gently caress you, Sense), and it's really streamlined, for the most part. My only beef is no percentage view on the battery meter, that pisses me off.

Unless something has changed in the last few years, you can replace the MIUI launcher with Nova.
