I'm in the market for new speakers for my home theater. I've got a 2.1 system using the two of the following speakers: https://www.amazon.com/Dayton-Audio-HTS-1200B-Theater-Speaker/dp/B000I7U1OU If it matters, this is what sub I have: https://www.amazon.com/Polk-10-Inch...ywords=polk+sub I'm looking to replace my speakers with either bookshelf or standing speakers. Here's my local craigslist: https://cleveland.craigslist.org/ Budget is $300 or less. Anyone have any recommendations?

I was using a pair of Mackie CR4 speakers for my computer. They seem to have crapped out. I'm trying to figure out what to replace them with. Can I replace this with an amp and a set of bookshelf speakers?

I'm looking to set up a stereo receiver with some bookshelf speakers for listening to music. I found these speakers on sale: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1116657-REG/sony_ss_cs5_3_way_3_driver_bookshelf.html I found this receiver: https://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/yamrs202bl/yamaha-r-s202-2-ch-x-100-watts-natural-sound-stereo-receiver/1.html Will those speakers work with the receiver?

What are you trying to do with this setup? If you're just listening to music, I think you could do better with a nicer bluetooth speaker. You could get one for $100 - $150 and they sound pretty nice these days.

yoohoo posted:Is there any reason the video wouldn’t be coming through, but audio would? I’m using an apple tv and when I opened up Hulu the screen started flashing to black. It will stay black for 2-3 seconds and then go back to the Apple TV for 1-2 seconds and then go black etc. sometimes it kicks out to the “no input” screen on the TV and then will go back to black/Apple TV. Audio is working fine the whole time. The input on my 4K player is just black with the occasional cut to the “no input”. The PS4 works both audio/video. I’m running everything through a Denon s750 receiver. They all have the same hdmi cords that I bought two months ago. This happened once before and I had to unplug everything to get it working again. Any ideas what’s going on? The receiver will randomly turn off, maybe once every 2 weeks, while using it. Usually it’s when I’m just listening to music, but sometimes when I’m watching movies. I’m wondering if it might all be related? Directly connect the PS4 and Apple TV to the TV. Do they work? My gut feeling is that if this happens with both your PS4 and ATV it rules out bad cables so it's either the TV or receiver.

Sirotan posted:Hah yeah I came to that conclusion and edited my post just as you posted. I really wish the 1913 had bluetooth, that is an absolute must for me. And no intention of ever buying the kit needed for Atmos. If I go the sound bar route it looks like the receiver might not get used at all at this point. Hmmmm. I added bluetooth to an old receiver using a raspberry pi and moode audio. You could add bluetooth or airplay.

I hope this is the right thread for this question. I was wondering if there were any suggestions for a universal remote? The remote for my Samsung TV is going and would like to get something to control the TV and Denon receiver. A harmony remote probably would've been perfect but they've been discontinued.

Lifespan posted:How often has Costco been restocking the AVR-S760H? I'm ready to pull the trigger and I don't know if I should just wait around or give in and spend the extra $60 for the refurb version. Costco has the Yamaha TSR-700 for $440 right now. Not sure if it'll meet your needs though.

GentlemanofLeisure posted:Do you have a vendor recommendation for the 570's? Looks like the lowest they've ever been on Amazon is $250/ea but right now they're about $300/ea. Jamo speakers go on sale all the time on adorama through slickdeals. https://slickdeals.net/f/15547831-jamo-s-809-5-0-home-cinema-pack-black-1064325-h-adorama-359?src=SiteSearchV2Algo It says expired but if you click the link, it shows up on adorama for $359. It's a sponsored deal through slickdeals. I think I paid ~$230 for my S809 pair but I wish I had bought a package like this instead.

Ok Comboomer posted:lmao at bundling in the smaller S81 center instead of its larger sibling that would actually match the drivers in the floorstanders, but for that price you could honestly just buy the S83 separately and still be all-in at under $500. I think they sell a set for ~$399 with the S83.

phosdex posted:I've got the Costco Denon now. What are some better options for playing my mp3s off my NAS? Right now, I have them in Plex and enabled the DLNA server. Then I can access that through the Denon HEOS thing. That interface is pretty clunky. Is this why I sometimes see like several thousand dollar media streaming boxes in some setups? Use a Plex app on your TV or streaming device?

I've switched my streaming boxes to off lease mini computers. You can find a Optiplex 3050 or a thin client for $100 or less. I use Volumio but I'm sure there are other solutions out there. This about the same price of a raspberry pi once you factor in the price of a case, charger, and micro sd card.

I'm putting together a little speaker set for a small room. I currently have a Lepai 2020AD and a pair of Sony SS-CS5 bookshelves. I may eventually upgrade the speakers to a pair of Overnight Sensations DIY speaker kit. The Lepai works but it's struggling to power the speakers so I'm looking to upgrade the amp. I don't have a lot of space so I'd like to keep it to about the same size as the Lepai. I'm hoping to spend $50-$100. This is currenlty on sale for ~$56: https://a.co/d/07JE9ry This is also ~$56: https://a.co/d/5NatYsX Are there any other amps I should be looking at in this price range? This is going to be connected to a raspberry pi so no need for bluetooth or anything.
