FutureBoy posted:The only two that I can think of, aside from Logan, that they had access to were Deadpool and Sabertooth. Deadpool was considered a failure but why they didn't try with Sabertooth is a bit of a mystery. Maybe they just couldn't locate him at the time? All the others that have popped up since then they probably don't know about or can't get to. They actually did this in Ultimate X-Men, Sabretooth got the same treatment (except he had four claws). He also claimed to be Wolverine's son. Both of these were quickly forgotten and ignored by every subsequent writer.

I never really understood the love that some people give Art Adams, his women are consistently horrible to the point of looking disfigured.

It was really toned down somewhat and looked great, at least i thought. He's definitely not a bad artist I think sometimes his art is just so detailed that it can become confusing. Lobok posted:If we're to disregard the real reasons they are given muscles, Superman's alien physiology easily handwaves away a lot of things, like how the lenses of his eyes can focus unimaginably far while never being any bigger than an average human's. Maybe he doesn't need to work as hard at building muscles as we do or his body works like a regular human's up to a certain point past which Kryptonian super blood takes over and provides the rest of his strength or abilities. Spider-man usually is said to vaguely have some improved healing, not as extreme as wolverine but more like healing from broken bones and bruises over a few days instead of weeks. I suppose that could justify greater ease in building muscle as well as his vision self-correcting.

He's got a withered little baby arm now where his old robot arm used to be and this looks like it's some kind of prosthetic over the top.

Jedit posted:Yeah, there's enough Adi Granov art for him to trace that he should be able to illustrate most stories. He just traces the movie armor now. I'm certain the rationalizing for giving Tony a bulkier suit than the liquid armor one in the new book was entirely written in to accomodate Land's tracing.

Say what you will about Marvel, but I can't remember the last time there's been this many interesting, unique art styles on their books at once. DC's house style looks so boring in comparison to stuff like Ghost Rider, Elektra, Silver Surfer, Moon knight, etc.

Personally I have much more hate for Land. Not even for the fact that he lightboxes photos, but that he blatantly traces the work of other artists and passes it off as his own which is just morally reprehensible. Like Hakkesshu said, Liefeld got too famous too early in his career and just coasted on his popularity instead of working to improve himself. If he had committed himself it's very likely we'd view him much differently today.
