If you think that Google is going to let Motorola be for any longer than a couple years, you are fooling yourself. Once they clear the rigorous initial regulatory period, the screws are going to tighten. Google makes a lot of money, but has no reason to let Motorola bleed cash on their own.

I mean, of course, steer family and loved ones away from crap phones and shoddy hardware, but let them make a choice they are comfortable with. Take her to a Verizon store and let her fiddle with the phones for a while. Also, if she makes the choice herself, there is a greater chance she will be satisfied with the phone over the life of the contract.

It might just be the radio chip on the device. 2011 LTE radios are so flaky and power hungry compared to newer versions.

Just make sure you check to make sure it is activated in iOS settings. I restored my 6s from my old 5s and it it retained the data only setting.
