Kyle Boller will be our starting qb sometime this year!!

I am really excited about this year! I KEEP looking over our team and we are solid in every area and I think we can really be special. However I keep coming back to Jason Campbell. Yes he had some solid games last year but in some games like the Pittsburgh game he didnt even compete. Yes he got beat up but he just showed no fire. No matter what I do I cant get comfortable with him. Then to hear how he didnt look good in practice yesterday and Hue keep defending him just bothers me really. I know he hasnt had much success in his carreer but I really think that if Boller gets in he will do well. also wish we could deal for Matt Flynn.

Because Kyle Boller is known for doing well in his career, and has done head and heels better than Jason Campbell in every aspect of his playing.

Wait a sec, there are Raiders fans who want to bench Campbell? I mean, 8-8 isn't spectacular or anything, but they haven't had a .500 season in years.

Campbell wasn't really responsible for it. A very aggressive defense and a deadly running game were.

Yeah, not saying he's perfect or the best QB ever, but it just seems a bit quick to bench the guy after one fairly decent season.

You just don't understand what Kyle Boller is capable of doing on a football field. Especially while kneeling.

I mean it could be (probably is) that he thinks white guys are better at qb but he didn't say it so it could also be because Campbell is a boring, competent game manage type and Boller DROPS BOMBS FROM HIS KNEES HOW BADASS IS THAT???? and not a race thing.

Reportedly, Boller is 0-10 in his last 10 starts. Do you know how hard it is to lose 10 consecutive games in the NFL? Even the Detroit QBs win 1 out of every 10 starts.

Repeat it with me: "I wouldn't give his troubles... to a monkey on a rock!"

I predict that Boller gets cut.

im probaly older than you and probaly been a raiderfan longer than you (1978). Im a realist and trust me I hope Campbell proves me wrong and have a great year but he just doesnt show alot of fire. As far as going 0-10 in his last starts is bad. but Gannon wasnt great before he got to us either. if you think I am saying that Boller is good then your really misunderstanding me. But the fact IS Jason got benched a couple times last year. If he is playing poorly this year I think Boller might do ok. Hey, I just have a feeling this may happen.

Good post. I have my reservation on Jason Campbell consistency of being a starting QB in this league. He has never done enough to get his team to the next level. I think Boller and Edwards can do just as good as a job starting with this talent heavy running game that the Raiders have. Campbell will not do anything spectacular, but just manage the game and hopes Darren Mcfadden and Bush carry the offense to victory. Hue Jackson can do wonders with a QB, I think he can have Edwards and Boller playing at their highest level with our running attack.

Yeah, I guess I hope it's not a race thing. I forgot how ridiculous Boller's arm used to be. Just the way he seemed to be...dancing around...something was weird. Like how people sometimes said Jeff Garcia was "too emotional."

:byodood: Preseason games! :byodood:

1. Price will be a top 10 WR in the league before we know it. As soon as the old guys ride off in Welker and Branch, and possibly Ochocinco, he's gonna be the go-to guy. Hopefully Brady is still around for atleast a year ot two before we go with Mallett/Hoyer/WhoeverisThere.

2. This defense will be in the top 5 when it comes to sacks. Their backups were getting a huge push all night, and Cunningham looks like he's progressed extremely well and looks more comfortable in the 4-3 DE spot. Anderson will be a pretty drat good situational pass rusher if he's in there on 3rd and long. Moore looked like he was also getting a pretty good push. When you couple these guys with any combination of Wilfork, Haynesworth, and Ellis your mind can get pretty drat excited.

3. Brian Hoyer will eventually start somewhere else and be a better QB than Joe Flacco. That's right, I said it. We've seen his poise, we've seen his play, and we've seen what he can do. We've seen him do it against back-ups and we've seen him do it against starters. If I'm any other team I'm doing everything short of giving up a 1st rounder to get Hoyer on my team. If it's a place that just needs that one missing piece at QB he could be the one to get them over the hump.

4. We are going to marvel at our backfield for years to come. I love Green-Ellis, but if Shane Vereen shows any potential at all, I don't see him here for long. Stevan Ridley was all over the field last night with some terrible run blocking and still managed 3 TDs (2 on the ground) for the night. I can only imagine what he'll be able to do with the starting o-line and the defense has the rest of the offense to worry about.

Matt Cassel looked like a bumbling retard in most of his preseason showings and was worth a 2nd round pick eventually. So ergo Hoyer is worth two 1st's at least.
