Leprosy and Altars of Madness are still tops for me. I was a little surprised I didn't dig the Obituary albums as much as I used to. Mental Funeral and Onward to Golgotha both kind of surprised me how much I like them. I kind of forgot about those albums. Early 90s Therion fits here too but also check out Disincarnate's "Dreams of the Carrion Kind" if you haven't.

I did a run through all of Opeth's metal albums after the last time they came up in the thread and I'm pretty convinced that they've always been a prog band. The difference is just that they started to lose interest in sounding like a metal band after Damnation and gave it up after Watershed.
