Watain, Behemoth and In Solitude were amazing tonight. The Devil's Blood sucked, while the opening local doom metal band was pretty cool. I am hurting.

Portland's lovely metal scene makes me hate Pantera more and more. I guess I should call it our local scene since a lot of poo poo comes from Washington. Why can't more bands be like YOB or Agalloch?

Falls Down Stairs posted:I don't listen to too much metal but I'm kinda partial to Agalloch; they're gonna be in town in a few weeks, would they be worth catching? I've heard mixed things about their live show. I just got back from seeing them and they were amazing. They played for 2 solid hours and played the new track. gently caress, go just to see Aesop beat the gently caress out of his kit.

Seeing them live recently brought back memories of high school where I was talking them up as a cross between Iron Maiden and Metallica. Oh, Iced Earth.

Ivar Bjørnson is one of the nicest musicians I have ever met. He looks mean, but he isn't. One of the guitar players in Ghost and Matt loving Pike were also really cool and awesome to talk to. I love it when guys in bands I like aren't total dicks.

Pallbearer would have been amazing if the vocals weren't buried in the mix. They sounded great though. Royal Thunder was pretty good too. Overall, the show is worth it.
