Blaspheme and Sortilege are awesome! A French dude at work was translating their lyrics for me a while ago, they're quite interesting.

haha yeah man, that album reminds me of late high school circa 2001 or so. I'd wanted the album so bad after hearing the then-current Thy Black Destiny on the radio, and wandered into a 2nd hand store hoping they had the albums there. Bam, all three sitting there, along with a Zemial album I'd been wanting for ages too. That was a cool year.

Current and former members of both Alchemist and Alarum are in this band, The Levitation Hex. Sounds like a combination of both of them

So good. The s/t has recently come out and it's a real grower, but has some immediate standouts.

Any of you guys into the whole "rare, collectible" side of the business happen to know if the original Osmose digipak version of Necromantia's Scarlet Evil Witching Black is particularly rare? Reason I ask is that I came across an ebay auction asking $250 for it which seemed pretty excessive.

Only around 1000 copies were made of that version. Hell, if it were a choice of buying that digi or the atrocious new artwork, which would you pick? It's time to listen to Scarlet Witching Dreams as loud as possible!

Yeah, but $250? I'm pretty sure i traded a couple of crappy cds for the one i have and i even got the original pressing ancient pride mcd as well.

I suppose I've just never thought of metal cds as being worth lots of money.

Before a lot of reissues for the more 'cult' bands, people would pay ridiculous amounts for some albums. I'd try and sell a few Trouble and dISEMBOWELMENT releases I had duplicates of, to try and get my money back ($10), and they'd go for over $50 sometimes. Some cases where you'd see cds reach obscene figures, but you'd usually equate vinyl as the more valuable format though where people paid upwards of the hundreds.

Ancient Pride digi isn't that rare though is it?

The live album they did while playing live in a Dallas radio station is great too. Apparently they still play in Ohio, but they don't seem to get far beyond there. I'd love to see them. This is totally anecdotal but Switzerland doesn't have the best metal crowds. I went to Zurich a few years ago to see the Big Four, and I was really bummed out by how quiet, passive and boring the crowd was. Apparently "that's just what Swiss people are like".

I was thinking about it for Coroner, but the lure of getting absolutely trashed in a field with everybody else at Party.San proved too much. 65e to drink for 4 days and watch about 4 bands probably isn't the best return, but it's a recurring theme. Still, already been to Hell's Pleasure and have Live Evil and Wolf Throne later.
