What the gently caress was up with the charity remake of "We are the world"? I heard the episode it premiered with Kevin Nealon and Tig but never bothered with the lead up ones, because the song is so grating. It does fit with CDR humour; goes on way too long, there's no humour hits or redeeming aspects, there's a rap section. Then at the end there's no payoff. Scott and his guests just go "wow, that was amazing." HOW DEEP DOES THIS RABBIT HOLE GO

DangerDummy! posted:Oh, so it's a novelty song. Gotcha. It's literally "We are the world sung" by LA comics poorly. It was for charity, to sell on itunes. In that vid Kurt Russell actually says "it's a horrible song done even worse, seriously it's really bad and out of sync." Listening to it in the podcast there is no break from the line that it's in earnest, trying to be funny and touching, and of course it's two of the most deadpan comics featured in the episode, playing it completely straight. Goddamn it Scott Aukerman. Although that ep is great for the dry humour competition between Nealon and Tig.

Vancouver info is up now, it's going to be the Biltmore. I wonder if any of the regulars will actually make the trip up one day after a Philly show. Thought Aukerman mentioned Reggie was opening, too, but again can't see him flying in for one show. It could be a good show for local talent exposure but it would be nice to see some of that CBB chemistry live. Does anyone notable have coinciding dates?

Man no way Wittels would use that improv takeback (OTB.) You can hear him hesitate and then just say gently caress it: "The eight year old is...enh, the mother" About the tour, On the Who Charted with Nick Thune, Kulap mentioned she's going to a wedding in Vancouver in August, hopefully the Aug 10 show isn't just filler to pay for the trip from Philly the day before. Tickets are only 20$, how much are the other venues going for?

Recording engineering must be the absolute hardest goddamn vocation. People study for years to to become professionals who are dedicated solely to this one specific task, millions of dollars are spent yearly on staggeringly sophisticated equipment, and it is still not possible to actually record the noises that people make with their mouths into electric amplifiers. To be fair, this would only be a consideration every single time there is a performance onstage, or a PA system used in any fashion; You can't expect miracles!

Baron Vaughn was on the podcast, Funches did standup before. The show was absolutely hilarious, it helped that most people in the crowd seemed into CBB, too.
