Am I crazy, or has Scott been a lot less patient with bad characters lately than he used to be?

I think this was probably recorded shortly after the Brett Gelman episode so he's in contrarian self-righteous comedy mode.

Man, I miss the Todd Glass Show. I fell off hard when Kinno left and it got super repetitive, but I used to love it. Any newer ones that are really good and might get me back into it?

It was probably my favorite podcast and then when Kinno left it turned into the Todd tells everyone how to have fun show. Todd is great when he has someone that he’s intimidated by/afraid to upset around.

Contrarian opinion: I don’t get Hollywood Handbook and the least funny part of this episode was their intro and outro.

The rest was A+++

It's bad, I've tried multiple times listening to more episodes than I can remember and it's just not good. The "joke" is one note, there isn't anything to get. I think people like it like they like their morning radio shows, they become familiar with the "characters" and enjoy them. Don't try to make jokes about how bad the show is here, people get real stupid about it. I did enjoy the opening bit though, but that was because Scott and the gang were making GBS threads all over HH for a good while.

Is it just me or do a lot of the movies that get promoted on CBB get limited releases or straight to VOD? Zooks had one a few months ago too I think.

Yeah, I'm not sure even the biggest Podcast has enough listeners to garner big budget film promotions, much less relatively obscure alt comedy podcasts.

I hadn’t actually seen the video of that before, wonderfully ridiculous.

I didn't realize his bit worked without the context, Scott even calls it out on his first appearance!

I don't think anyone's trying to cancel him, or say poly people should be driven out of public life or anything. The quotes in the article just made it sound like he pulled his wife into something she maybe isn't super comfortable with and then decided to brag to a soft porn magazine about how awesome it is that he gets to bang other women. If she's happier with the marriage than the article made it sound, great, but it read like he's not particularly concerned with how it affects her. But no, I don't think getting famous and then deciding you want to gently caress your groupies is the same as being LGBT at all.

Seems like he's being open with his wife and they have rules and stuff, what's the problem? Seems like you're just looking to stir some poo poo, he's being candid about something he's into. He didn't say he's off loving groupies while she's ignored and unhappy, seems like she's more into group loving than polyamory based on what he said in the article.

Also who cares if they're 30 years into a relationship or 1, people can decide they want different things at any point.

If you think the way he described it sounded like a fair and equitable relationship where they're making rules based on the needs of both parties, I don't know what to tell you. She's an adult, so if it's a bad relationship she can leave, but I don't think he's earned any husband of the year awards for letting her tag along while he hooks up with groupies.

I've heard him talk about it on other podcasts, but also he says:

quote:

Mollie and I have created our own rules, and compared to most of the people we’ve met who do this kind of poo poo, our rules are strict. We’re not off on our own; we’re together, a unit. It’s a perpetual state of management and communication, to the point where it’s like, “All right, we’ve got to stop. Chill.” I’m gas, and she’s brakes.

What about that sounds "unfair"?

quote:

Mollie will say, “Yeah, she’s into you. Where do I fit in?” That question comes up.

Seems like a reasonable question, certainly doesn't mean he hosed the groupie despite her disapproval. Maybe you're assuming he's a terrible person to his wife despite the lack of evidence?

Like I said, if you read that and think it sounds awesome, I don't expect to change your mind. I just assume if his own take on it makes it sound kind of like he's the guy pestering his wife into giving him what he wants all the time, the reality probably isn't better than that.

Anyone who doesn't think he's "pestering his wife into giving him what he wants all the time" thinks what he's doing is awesome, is that your stance?

It's just a different lifestyle, some people are into it and others aren't, it doesn't make me dislike him as a guest on podcasts and if it changes your view of him... well there's a Chinese guy on the line for you.

Y'all are just jaded, I thought it was great. The trumpet part was definitely a highlight but there were plenty of laugh out loud moments. The Paul Rudd interview was great, also Will Ferrel is always great, loved the CBB cameos throughout. The public access clips especially were great nods.

One of her recurring characters sells sopping wet rugs out of I think an old pizza place... what exactly is so sophisticated about her comedy that makes this movie not worth it?

My problem with many of the Happy Madison movies is the misogyny also some of the gross out humor isn’t to my liking but otherwise I’m sure it’ll be funny. I like Lauren and I’ve enjoyed many of Sandler and Spades movies.

I watched The Wrong Missy, overall it had a bit of the gross out and misoginistic stuff I was expecting but there were also a few really good laughs. Nothing was so terrible it ruined the movie for me, which is a nice plus, even had some nice moments. Overall I thought it was a pretty funny movie and Lauren and her humor are definitely the best parts of the movie, worth a watch if you're into the kind of stuff Happy Madison produces.

Also listened to the CBB episode and it was alright, not a huge knee slapper but a nice middle of the road episode. It did make me want to watch the movie though so not too bad I suppose.

Best laugh for me was the cliff diving scene
