It isn't exactly an isolated incident. Joe has a pretty extensive history with hating women. I'm not really bothered by it though, as I still find his podcast to be the best by a mile.

Admittedly, the show is spotty in terms of quality, but it's pretty crazy how awesome and hilarious this podcast is since it's just stream of consciousness talking. No pre-production, no organized schedule, just a few dudes talking.

this new JRE with Shane Smith is incredible, best one in a while (probably ever). I've been bitching about the need for Joe to cut down on the stoner talk and 'go legit' more often and this is the best example of the potential this show has when everything's clicking

Shane Smith is amazing. Best Joe Rogan podcast in a long time. Cannot wait for the next time he's on. I've been a huge fan of Vice since I first saw Heavy Metal in Baghdad. Seems like the coolest job ever (even with how stupidly dangerous it is).

I like bert a lot, but whenever he goes into his high-pitched talking/laughing I almost have to mute the podcast because it annoys me so much. In icehouse chronicles 5 he does it for at least 40 seconds straight at one point

Then I was disturbed by it in the sense that it was distracting. He MAKES HIMSELF crack up with his own stories, and it's only funny if its a reaction to someone else. Anytime someone laughs FIRST at their own jokes so wholeheartedly -- it either better be one of the funniest stories you have in your arsenal, or you're just too hosed up and annoying to be fun to listen to. Shane Smith was too short, he has to come back!

I've been listening to JRE for almost a year and a lot of deathsquad shows the last 4 months.. I feel like Redban might be one of those nerds that leveraged their tech skills to get a crew, like the a/v kid that realized he could hang with rappers by doing their live sound for free. I dunno. I wish the guy was funnier or contributed more, you can tell he desperately wants to, but god drat does he have some bad timing and tact and Joe's so paranoid about Brian being an idiot that he shouts him down even when he DOES drop some funny.

I've been listening to #110 and had to turn it off as Duncan was annoying the poo poo out of me, and he's my favourite guy normally. First he dismisses Newtonian physics as bullshit, then he was ranting about Penn and Teller style-skeptics being disconnected and soul-less automata who aren't in tune with the frequency of the universe or some poo poo, but it was when he dickishly pronounced how illnesses are a scheme of the government and Big Pharma to sell more medicine that I thought "this guy really is a clueless loving hippie".
