The following post was brought to you by the Fleshlight. If you go to JoeRogan.net, and click on the link for the Fleshlight, and enter in the codename ROGAN, you will get 15% off the number one sex toy for men! And you can shoot loads into it, at a discount, son! I picked this podcast up a couple months back and I'm hooked. I'm very interesting in pretty much everything he has to talk about. Calcaneus posted:I've only heard a few episodes but when they have a good guest on, this podcast is really cool. Rogan knows how to have a conversation and has something to say about most topics that are brought up. But when the conversation veers towards drugs I have to switch it off. Not that I'm a prude who hates drugs, but I've never heard anyone who is so annoying about it. Well, other than Kevin Smith. See, I'm the opposite. As a supporter of psychedelic drugs in general, I love hearing him talk about mind-opening hippie experiences. On the other hand, I zone out whenever he goes on about UFC matches and fighters. I just don't watch those, so to hear him rattle off names and fighting styles bores me to tears. Deadlysherpa posted:For me it's the capitalist/libertarian chat and misogyny when they get on the subject. I can understand how he developed those positions, being a millionaire who has spent the majority of his life surrounded by machismo but I just have to tune out for a while until they get past it. This too. I'm all for Bro-ing out and machismo, but he uses the word "oval office" a lot, and not just "cunty", which he's tried to show a difference between. Every other word when talking about some woman in the news who's slighted him is bitch and oval office and whore.

It's pretty funny because for all his crackpot theories about the moon landing and Sept. 11 attacks, he's the first to loudly mock and ostracize Alex Jones with an obnoxious mocking voice.

I actually prefer his shilling to the ones on other podcasts. Adam Carolla might be my favorite person to listen to of all time, but I actually can't listen to his podcast because his promos are so loving horrible. He'll be talking to some interesting guest and right in the middle of their discussion he'll casually lead in to "Oh, you were in a movie last year? You know what else is good news? Gotomypc.com is having a half-off sale! So go download their app right now! You can access your work pc from home and-". I seriously didn't think I had a problem with this kind of stuff, but it makes me cringe. Rogan gets his out of the way at the beginning and end where you can skip them easily, and the only time he discusses them at all is if someone else brings them up, and if he doesn't truly believe in brain pills and rubber vaginas, he's the best actor I've ever heard, because he talks about them with the exact same intensity and passion he uses when he talks shop with a UFC pro or about the newest season of Fear Factor.

Just watched Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and I remember Rogan talked about it a couple of times. One time in particular he went in depth about the plot and his concerns with it. Does anyone know which podcast this was?

To be fair, he did supposedly take a good amount of mushrooms and was just acting pretty accordingly.

He was just some guy before Joe picked him up, right? Is that how he met all the pornstars he's been dating? He's attractive enough to them for some reason.

I'm torn on Redban. On the one hand, he is annoying as poo poo and acts like a petulant child when he doesn't get his way. He talks too fast when he gets excited and trips all over his own ADD, which is also annoying. But he's also scolded far too much by Joe lately. Whereas a few months back Joe would laugh and poke fun at him whenever he had some bonehead idea and would make it like something he did on purpose, you know, good-naturedly, as of late he gets seriously angry and calls Brian some mean-spirited and personal things. Really calls him out on being uninformed and childish. It gets to be so bad I'm shifting uncomfortably in my car driving to work. Joe tries way too hard to look cool and open-minded to his guests, I sort of miss when they were a team and not Joe inviting one of the cool kids over and shunning Brian. Often times he's just being silly or playing Devil's Advocate to hippie talk and thinks it's funny, he's not trying to gently caress things up. Joe acts like he's ruining The Great Podcast of our time by being a stoner and throwing in his Olive Garden joke.

Cjones posted:Yup, definitely. After listening to dozens of these podcasts, I almost feel like I'm a half-member of the "stand-up" clique. I don't mean to sound like a dickweed, but I used to go to raves a lot and the general consensus is that deadmau5 is a sellout and a loser. I never subscribed to those ideas, he makes good music, and I figured I would probably try to make as much money as I could too in his position, so who was I to judge him? But listening to the podcast made me lose what respect I might have had. He has the single most ignorant view of mind-altering drugs I've ever heard. Considering his success being due largely in part to people dropping E or smoking weed and going to raves to listen to him, it blew me away that he has this mindset that his music is "above that" and that you "don't need those things to enjoy his music like some other music out there" because it's so technical or advanced or whatever the gently caress he thinks. Not to get all :joerogan: but the afformentioned drugs make virtually any and all music better, hands down. They stimulate the mind in such a way that it's like observing the music with a different sense or something. Or maybe you're just hosed up. Point is, he's the last artist who can say he's above that poo poo, and he just came across as totally condescending.

It's astonishing to say condescendingly that she's below Rogan's level when she's really quite gorgeous. I'm proud of Joe for locking that down.
