I'll be devastated if Ribery goes to prison. I can understand not knowing (this is why you check ID boys) but if he did know and still did it. I've lost all respect for him. Easily one of my favorite players in the game yet somehow this news article has not come across my attention.

There is no place for that all. I disagree with and despise players getting physical with officials. Even when I get mad at a ref I would never do something like that. I heard about this today at the office. Really sad.

It's not like she was roaming the streets randomly on a Tuesday walking up to people trying to pass off as black. It was a loving costume. I understand where you are coming from, but comparing it to a fascist symbol, in the way you are describing, is wrong. Especially since it's origins are not at all malevolent. It's sad when players die from stuff like this. It's really unfortunate. Cardiac arrest is something that you shouldn't have to worry about at such a young age. Also, I agree that cardiac testing should be done before any National/European competition. I'd even go as far as saying add mandatory random drug testing like in the World Cup after a match. There was that one cool story about a player that had his defibrillator kick in on the pitch, I forgot who it was and what league but essentially his heart stopped on the pitch and it kicked in and he ended up being fine.
