Brazilian footballer Fabio Rochemback - formerly of Barcelona and Middlesbrough - has been arrested after an alleged cockfighting ring was busted in the country's south.

A police operation was conducted at a farm in Rio Grande do Sul state, reported news site Globo.

It said 89 roosters were seized and more than $100,000 (£75,000) in cash.

Tensions have been mounting at the Lisbon club in recent weeks amid poor results and an apparent conflict between the squad and president Bruno de Carvalho.
In April, De Carvalho claimed he was suspending 19 of the first-team players following their Europa League exit at the hands of Atletico Madrid, although he later appeared to back down.
There have also been rumours he suspended boss Jorge Jesus and his coaching staff on Monday, with senior players reportedly threatening to boycott Sunday's Taca de Portugal final out of solidarity with their coach.

I find it harder to think of the ones who really campaigned against him. Juninho is the only one I can think of with confidence. Dani Alves, maybe? He stayed kind of quiet during the actual elections, though.
