The new HHOP has Dan Kerstetter, who's one of the heads of programming at Seeso. I wonder if something's in the works.

Quality Jessica from Ithaca call this week.

I understand the fawning. I'm not crazy about it, but I get it. People are calling in because they're fans of the show. Nobody is stumbling upon a podcast the same way they might've when it was on WFMU. It's different. The closest you'll get to that is when somebody calls in because they were told to by a friend but had never heard the show before. Like this week with the hairdresser in Austin. That was a good call.

Good start to the show so far. Tom gets pissed at Bob's Burgers/H. Jon Benjamin while talking to a kid.

I didn't hear any complains about Jon Benjamin. I think his issues are with Loren Bouchard, who used to come on and plug Home Movies.

I'll gladly take three straight hours of Jessica from Ithaca and Kat from Raleigh IN STUDIO before I ever want to hear another forgettable garage rock band on the show again. Just a void of charisma and interesting conversation.

Do you have puppy dogs was from AP Mike appreciation day I think, which was a later day WFMU episode.

The "da na na na" is a kid singing Coheed and Cambria to Tom.

The last one is Andy Kindler's Pigpen impersonation

I would sincerely buy a ticket to a Tom vapetriloquism show.

I listened to the first hour of this week's episode... does it ever pick up or is it pretty much all people trying to get their cats to make noises on the phone?

It also has a Kat from Raleigh call

On a positive note, whip talk is amazing, along with Porno Home Companion. I love the direction the caller-less portions of the show has been heading. And Tom with Wally Wackiman will always be great.

Almost done with Tom’s book. It’s really good- for someone who talks three hours a week, he’s really kept a lot close to the vest.

Edit: Wait - is this the episode where he coins FOT?

I forgot about this- it’s because he felt gross calling it Scharpling’s Army after the attacks right? That episode is a pretty big bummer.

I think he’s hinted at it before as Jenny Bicks, the season 2 show runner for Divorce.
