I'm gonna go against the grain here and nominate Eridan's shiphive. It has vintage charm.

I loved everything about Kankri and Porrim's interactions. "You're not my mom!!"

So... do blood powers affect trans-universal memories? That seems like an odd game mechanic to have.

edit: particularly loved the references to all of the trashy literature disappearing in a blur

Also, STRIIDEERRR :argh: is kind of an rear end for impersonating John's dead dad. But he's also hilarious, so I don't mind.

He's not impersonating John's dad, he is John's dad. I'm pretty sure Radiation wrote a song about this.

Man I got all excited because I saw like 60 new replies to this thread. Now I have to wait a few days knowing that all you tophat and monocle wearing bastards who can afford to blow $50 on a webcomic game are getting some premium country club homestuck right now. The rich get richer .

The juxtaposition of Cronus' awful personality with his incredibly adorable sprite is kind of interesting. I would have thought it was on purpose, but all of Xamag's stuff is done in a cutesy style, so.

And poor Karkat :(. That whole scene with Terezi was just heartwrenching. At least he seems to be able to talk to her without making a huge rear end of himself now that he's apparently given up on having a relationship with her.

Nah it's just going to be John again. We're not going to see what he's dreaming about. We're just going to spend the next 30 pages watching him drool while Jade leaves in disgust.

Stuff like this happens to me all the time. Last week someone (I forget who) pointed out to me the name of Feferi's land, Glass and Dew.

Dew on glass is condensation.

That's a bit of a stretch, especially considering that the word is condesce, not condense.

VV A title :colbert:. And I really doubt it's intentional, such as it is.

Well, the Courtyard Droll said he wasn't sure if Jake died from choking or an allergic reaction. Those two causes of death have some things in common, but I think you'd be able to tell which is which (If you're familiar with human biology, which I guess CD might not be). It's possible that CD concluded that the peanuts were effective because he saw the funeral.

And if the peanuts didn't kill him, Prospit might still have recognized it as an assassination attempt and arranged a fake funeral to reassure Derse that Jake was dead.

I'm a fan of the theory, but I have no way to explain why Jake's firefly lantern went out if he's not dead. So there's that.

Jake goes straight to the dream bubbles when he sleeps. His dream self is dead.

Usually homestuck voice acting makes me cringe, but that was pretty good right there. It helps that I love fish puns :).

^^There didn't have to be a bunch of mysteries to unravel, though. It was supposed to be an endgame/action climax sort of act; there was a set action plan, and it still hasn't happened yet now, over a year later.

The hard to pin down thing about discussions of how Homestuck is dragging is that any one update is almost certain to get overwhelmingly positive responses.

There have been plenty of updates lately that I've found boring and disappointing. I keep reading because I'm pretty emotionally invested in the story at this point and because several updates have been legit awesome (the walkarounds, arquius, most of Roxy's logs, etc), but I have to say it does seem like the story is stalling pretty hard. I keep thinking there's about to be some, like, actual plot resolution, and it turns out to either be a THIS IS STUPID style anticlimax or another goddamn new character/problem/plot direction. It's like the Wheel of Time series except with less spanking porn and better jokes.

I'm starting to think that Hussie may not actually be very good at ending stories.

Re: Archival reading- I think that if I'd stopped reading at Cascade and then come back and read the whole thing up to now in one big meandering Jake-obsessed chunk, I would probably be pretty pissed about how little has actually happened.
