Hello, this is Kakaricho from VR-GCCX. I decided to register an account to say hello to the SA-GCCX team and tell you how much I have enjoyed your releases. I know our group is young, but I really hope that we can make many releases in the future. If anyone from the SA-GCCX team would like to get in touch with me, please feel free to post here, at our thread in /vr/ in 4chan(current one is here http://boards.4chan.org/vr/res/942758#p955106), or e-mail me at vrkakaricho@gmail.com. I'd like to discuss what episodes you're working on to avoid any overlap in future releases. Thank you for your hard work and all the best in future projects!

Kanfy posted:GameCenter CX is truly one of the most powerful forces in the universe if it can make SA and 4chan work together. Our GCCX threads in /vr/ are pretty different from the usual/stereotypical image of 4chan. The vast majority of people who post there are well mannered and polite, and a lot of Anons pitch in in on the editing process. Swing by and see for yourself sometime! Shadow Ninja 64 posted:Common ground is a cool thing like that sometimes. Exactly! I just don't get group drama/rivalry, to be honest.

Nipponophile posted:Well, there's the fact that /b/ used to frequently post actual child pornography. I don't know if they still do that, but you should understand why people might want to distance themselves from a site that does that. Ugh, I know. Back when I was in high school (many years ago) I learned to leave fast if I saw people posting F5 threads. That said, /vr/ is a totally different environment. Obeast posted:I think it's great that VR-GCCX and SAGCCX are gonna work together to release episodes, especially since VR-GCCX's work seems to be about the same quality as SAGCCX (I can't tell how well it's translated since I barely know Japanese, but I'm sure it's about the same). Well, I think were mainly just making sure we don't do projects that the other group is already working on. Glad to hear that you think our releases stack up against SA's!

Xelkelvos posted:The mods are much more watchful about stuff like that now. /vr/, /v/ and /b/ are are relatively different entities much like how GBS is different from Games or FYAD. I honestly don't know a lot about how different /vr/ is from /v/ though. 4chan in 2013 is different from years past, and while /vr/ seems to have some trolls and trouble makers (where doesn't?), for the most part, it's a pretty nice community. Our GCCX threads often see people apologize and forgive, and random Anons do most of our script checks, and in that process, I've witnessed some of the most civil conversation I've ever seen on the internet. Adamant posted:In short: Well, it's not like I don't watch every new challenge (if I can), you don't have to sell me on a great episode!

I liked the new episode, it's been a while since he's challenged a fighting game. Plus, "Yoga Fire!" for a Kamehameha, I laughed. Also, the first staff battles in a long time, and suddenly, Nakayama out of nowhere. I'm watching the final version of the Megaman 2 challenge right now, and if it doesn't violate any rules, I'd be glad to post the results of the final ending. Is that okay? I don't think the SMB battle will have any new footage outside of the previously aired CS version that had the action happening between the commercials of the original broadcast. Also, Producer Kan's Twitter didn't tease anything for it, but he did kind of say "Who knows what the new 10 minutes of the Megaman 2 challenge will contain?"

In the just-aired extended version of the Famicon 30th Anniversary Challenge against Megaman 2, in the extra 10 minutes, Arino was able to beat Dr.Wily, a revenge waiting eight years in the making!

NuclearPotato posted:Hey guys, what would be a good episode from the DVD to show someone who's never seen GCCX before? My aunt got the DVD for my birthday, and we're probably going to watch it together. I like SOS a lot, but maybe it's best for people who have suffered at a game's controls. A lot good humor there though, in my opinion.

It turns out the next challenge (on the 22nd) will be "The Legend of Kage" for the NES. It's just called Kage in Japan, hence the "4 letters of the alphabet" hint. http://www.fujitv.co.jp/otn/gamecenter/index.html EDIT - I was wrong, it's "Shadow of the Ninja", not "The Legend of Kage". AzraelDarkheart posted:The translation isn't bad, but I've already run into a mistake. At around 6:16 the subtitles say "Ah, he's fast! That guy's cool!", when Arino is calling him "Char", the Gundam character, since the enemy was all red like Char's Zaku. As I posted about that line on /vr/ 'drat it, I meant to ask how familiar people were with the original Gundam series and if a reference to it would be understood. Sloppiness on my part, and I'm sorry for it.'

SuccinctAndPunchy posted:It's probably a good rule of thumb that anyone watching a subtitled Japanese TV show won't mind references like that, even if they don't get them. That's a good point, thanks. Localizing is something I worry about, but maybe just sticking as close to the original references as possible is the best way.
