Here's a ridiculously poorly shot set from Coachella https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jrdxgr-HnMo. Judging by the angle I bet you can see my hands somewhere in there. You can also see in this one why Rolling Stone called them the Best Comedy Act. They actually changed their set a lot for the following weekend (I watched it on tv) which I thought was cool. No one else I saw did that.

My husband got to see The Decemberists right after they released The Hazards of Love and I think they did the album and then a few other songs. That's one of those "if I could travel back in time" sets I'd want to see.

For actual content is everyone in love with Spotify's new Discover playlist because I 100% am.

This still breaks my heart every time I remember it. They were playing Royal Oak for Hazards and that tour was a 2 hour set. They'd play Hazards in its entirety, complete with Laura Marling and then play hits for an hour after. My friend and I though the show was on a Wednesday, he calls me on my lunch break and tells me the show was actually the night before. :(

Saw them twice on the King is Dead tour though, they second time they played at the Interlochen Music Camp and halfway through Margaret on the Taiga, they started swapping instruments with the kids and let them jam out for 3-4 minutes before coming back in to wrap it all up.

I was disappointed to not see them this time around, but I'm buried rear end deep in Iowa and it would have been a $300+ endeavor to see them.

New CHVRCHES is dope, what's his name got some singing lessons. Really glad I skipped seeing them for Bones now.

Alright. I'm all for it, though I'd be more excited if they hadn't done those few shows in 2012 — Cedric's throat is not what it was 15 years ago.

Maybe if Omar is actually into it this time?

Paying $150 for K Dot is crazy, I've seen him twice and the second time it was only worth it because it was the Yeezus show.

EOE dropped almost 2 years to the day Bones did, so I'm sure it was certainly a little rushed to capitalize on all the hype they built in 2014 and the chemistry and energy they were probably feeling from touring. Looking forward to seeing what the break does for them.

I actually liked Antemasque, 35 mins of them trying to do short Led Zeppelin esque rock. I guess we'll see.

so even as a completely unapologetic decemberists fanboy... is it me or is this new record... not very good?

the lyrics are really terrible. some people dont like their epic 15 minute narratives about civil war lovers or vengeful forest gods... but goddamn it those were interesting.

instead this record offers such nuggets as "everything is awful" and "ive been waiting all my life" repeated 10 times.

Yeah I gave it a stream this morning and it wasn't great. Might be room for growth but at this point I have no problem overlooking entire discs. I hardly spin King is Dead.

Has anyone seen the Decemberists on this current tour (or any tour)? I have a ticket to see them tomorrow night, for the first time, and I am so psyched. I like their newest album better than the last one.

I've seen them a couple of times now and they are great live, even the two people I've gone with who aren't hardcore fans still had a good time.

I couldn't really give a poo poo about Greta Van Fleet or pitchfork but this review of their album is scathing and highly entertaining. https://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/greta-van-fleet-anthem-of-the-peaceful-army/

It got a few laughs from me if only because it reflects my own skepticism sprinkled in with a pinch of jealousy and nostalgia for Zep.

I'd say it is even less about albums being less important and more about P4s brand of including a ton of poo poo hardly anyone probably listened to all year to maintain the image.

Jeremih making the list but the Black Panther soundtrack not, Cupkakke being ranked better than Daytona, Robyn and Snail Mail in front of Sweetener, oh okay.

Golden Hour is very deserved tho.

Number one take away from this Grimes disc is that Elon Musk absolutely fucks to Tiesto - Silence (Remix).mp3.

This thing is like blasting Ladytron out of a Cybertruck tapedeck.

That story about Azelia Banks being held hostage for an Elon Musk threeway is also true.

the last track of late night tales is usually a short story spread out across a few of them and read by a celebrity. For parts 1 and 2 you want LNT: Nightmares on Wax and LNT: Sly & Robbie.
