I always assumed it was because it’s a close-up of his chest, which isn’t a flat plane.

The slight angle probably just make it looks slightly more three-dimensional. Close enough that it looks straight on to camera, but enough of an angle you can catch a bit of the side and make it 'pop' a bit more. The off centre lighting also helps with this.

Would it still be perfect if it was aligned correctly? (Probably)

For those that don't know or always suspected, the Batman logo is usually off angle slightly.

I'm not really sure how to best show but:

This image is 960 pixels wide, I made pixel line 480 red.

When it hits the tail you can tell its off a little bit.

And on the head its roughly 32 pixels of space on the left and 52 on the right.

So the Batman logo is a degree or two rotated clockwise?
These imperfections are almost always deliberate. Perfectly aligned or perfectly symmetrical stuff can look off.

Rules against building use are dumb. Hey, this giant structure that everybody can just see with their lookenpeepers, that defines the public skyline of a city of millions, that's OURS. Okay, no, we didn't design it or build it, but we did pay a lot of money for an NFT that says we own the light bouncing off of it. Pay up.

Hah, every time building rights come up I get reminded of a line from The State of The Art by one of the Culture science team members visiting Earth in the 70s, about the absurdity of humanity.

quote:

I stroked one of Tagm's hands, gazed again at the slowly revolving planet, my gaze flicking in one glance from pole to equator. 'You know, when I was in Paris, seeing Linter for the first time, I was standing at the top of some steps in the courtyard where Linter's place was, and I looked across it and there was a little notice on the wall saying it was forbidden to take photographs of the courtyard without the man's permission.' I turned to Tagm. 'They want to own the light!'

The batman 1989 movie poster is not supposed to be Batman's chest.

Even if it's not meant to be on his chest the slightly off angle gives a slight impression of a real world object and not just an art piece.

It is a Mercator projection which explains the pixel offset.

It's Batman's chest but not the Batman appearing in the movie. It is esoteric meta commentary on the fact that all superhero stories are same story dressed up with trappings stolen from elsewhere.

I'm not sure if I can post this shameless content here but this was awesome. Last night was the UK premiere for The Fall Guy at the biggest IMAX they have and all the important people were there and it had art inside and out that I created.

I should have gone to London to QC it, and I'm upset about it. But also pretty rad.

It had to be simple LED effects, no video in order to not distract traffic. But I want everyone to wreck so I pushed it
