The poster must be pretty loving bad if it made you mistake Triple H for Hulk Hogan.

Ice Age 4 posters. I guess the 3rd one was profitable enough, didn't see it so I can't comment on the quality of the film. These posters are a bit poo poo though.

Ice Age 3 made about $800 million at the box office. They'll still be making these films by the time the next ice age rolls around.

I think I'm the only person on Earth who likes that film although I haven't seen it in a long time. The version I saw definitely featured a scene were there is a nuclear device on board a plane.

It shits me to no end that Mondo makes these absolutely beautiful posters that I'd just be so happy to stick up on my wall but limits them to runs of like, 300, which sell out in under a minute (mostly to scalpers) and never get reprinted again. It's a damned shame, done for no reason other than to artificially create a collector's market.

Back in 2009 I found about the whole screen printed posters movement so am lucky in that I managed to get a couple of Tyler Stout posters before he absolutely exploded. This was when you bought directly from his site and they were a lot cheaper than they are now.

I bought his Robocop poster for $30 and it has been going for over $900 recently. The last mondo poster I got was Stout's Kill Bill poster which looks absolutely amazing in person.

He is in pretty good shape but there was a pretty infamous scene in Ghost Rider where he has CG abs.

Maybe this has been asked, but do these independent/fan posters have to pay licensing money to the studios? I just can't imagine the studios letting independent artists use their property to make money for themselves.

Mondo specifically do but I don't think anyone else does.

I honestly don't think the posters is very good. The art itself is impressive but it could belong to any fantasy film and the text is drat near unreadable.

Here is an amazing poster by the same artist for True Grit which I feel works much better with his style. It could be bought as a regular poster as well as a wood etching.

It's just something done domestically and in fact, I didn't even know there was a Steelers tie-in until it was brought up in this thread. Different territories use different ways of marketing films and in this case, I guess the US involved an NFL team. It's not really that different from the Rabbitohs being used to advertise Russell Crowe movies, even if the reason for it happening is different.

Case in point, the Melbourne Storms new kit:
