Then we kill some wandering trash and the process repeats itself. Also, pubbies refuse to do anything for 40+ XP outside of Frontiers. Yes, the silly XP bonuses make them the fastest places. But getting ganked kills a group because half the players ragequit/snap out of the grind trance and realize, gently caress, this is utterly miserable. There's DF too but it's unpredictable when you'll have that and you can't spam for replacements easily, and pubbies love to try to sprint straight through mobs to get to your group, wiping it, and causing 6/8 members to suddenly need to go to bed or pay attention to their wife or something. I don't know if this is playable on the weekends. If I hadn't written an AHK script to spam login I would have said gently caress it since that alone is a 20-30 minute process of load/exit/load/exit/load/exit until you win the lottery and can log in.

On the other hand, no one plays Alb and I seriously doubt anyone but the most dedicated 8v8 premades ever will. They're apparently extremely hostile to "solo" (didn't come with a guild) players too, so it's kind of hosed.

I really wish solo XP (on Genesis) was even slightly competitive to full group XP. Sometimes I have just an hour to play and wasting half of it to get a group invite then get to the group just makes me not want to play at all.

I just want to play whatever class is best solo PvP. I'd also like to know how the gently caress to make any sense out of item progression (Glass, Scales, Picts, Tokens, Artifacts, Bounty Points, Platinum, what buys what, how do I farm what I need, do I have to group, how do you group in this game when no one talks, etc). Or they're just fixing what they can when they can. Not to defend Genesis -- I stopped playing after Albgate -- but come on man. They've only been warning that all items will eventually be changed back to SI-era levels since the server opened.

If DAoC was 8v8, honestly WoW took that ball and ran with it in 5v5 Arenas and 10v10 organized battlegrounds. If DAoC was 8v1, you'll be happy to know that gank squads are alive and well in ESO and GW2. Maybe more in ESO since GW2's rewards are slanted heavily toward capturing objectives.

If there's a goon consensus for Uthgard on a realm and guild you can count on my brother and I to try our best to level with you all. I prefer playing DoT or support-type casters, so I'd probably go (in order): Alb -- Sorc, Cab, or Minst. MAYBE Necro just for the initial PvE farm? Hib -- Mentalist, Animist, Enchanter?, Eldritch? Mid -- SUB SHAMAN NO DOUBT Please, for gently caress's sake, pick a majority realm and stick to it.
