I found a treasure trove of reference/tutorials by a japanese artist who goes by the handle 0033. You have to sign up for a free account with Pixiv to view the images, but once you do, just go to the page I linked to and select 'Works' and then 'Submitted Illustrations'. Here are just a few to whet the appetite:
