The CDC has a ton of high resolution, mostly public domain images that cover all kinds of health-related subjects. The EM imagery section is especially good.

Library of Congress Prints & Photographs Online Catalog
The Library of Congress has hundreds of thousands of high resolution, mostly public domain images of subjects ranging from gold rush San Francisco to WPA posters to 18th century political cartoons. It takes a little looking, but there's some fantastic stuff there.
