Some of the pawn dialogue is hilariously stupid

*Gryphon catches on fire and crashes to the ground, screaming in pain*

Is there anywhere where you can straight up make new equipment rather than just the combining and enhancing? I noticed there was a blacksmith but he seems more interested in saving his dieing son than making me cool swords.

Does anyone know where to find a better Magic Archer bow? I seem to be doing significantly less damage as a magic archer than I was as a ranger ten levels lower. I've actually since found a longbow upgrade so I'd imagine the disparity would be even bigger now.

Are there a lot of post-game only monsters? I've explored the entire world, done every quest I could find and have a quest called "The Final Battle" and going by some monster list I checked I've only seen like 2/3s of the games enemies.

If you're not planning on using it in the field then put it in the stash. You can enhance items using materials from your stash, they don't need to be in your inventory. I recommend carrying a few skeleton keys (shackles + various ores) around with you because if you don't you'll inevitably end up wishing you had.

So, I'm currently running around as a Strider and I could use some help in what to focus on since I feel awfully weak. I just killed the Hydra and it feels like I'm just doing slivers of damage against bandits unless I'm buffed with an elemental weapon spell.

I did get the tangle skill which pretty much paid for itself in hilarity, since it allowed me to snare bandits into pretty little parcels that I threw over a cliff repeatedly.

You're just weak as poo poo at the beginning of the game as a strider. Getting headshots, even against stuff like wolves and goblins is important. You should always have appropriate elemental buffs while fighting.

That said striders (or any bow/dagger class really) are in my opinion the best classes for fighting giant monsters.

Yeah, I'd imagine the grimgoblins get the boost too. My main reason for enemies are tougher is that they gives about 1.5x as much exp as I'm used to (yes I'm still using a full group of pawns). I switched classes and weapons from Mystic Knight to bow-centric assassin so it's hard to compare combat-wise.

Honestly, no, not at all. Although admittedly a large part of what made the postgame dungeon so easy was the ridiculous amount of wakestones they throw at you. There's not a lot of tension to the fights when you have a dozen extra lives in your inventory.

Has anyone been able to do even noticeable damage to the Ur-Dragon? I know he's a cumulative online thing, but I fought him once, then tried again and the second time he had regained like half an hp bar. I'm wondering if I did so bad the first time he healed or something.

My drat pawns keep knocking cyclopses over before I can get them to take their helmet off. If I can scarlet kiss it's face it will die in like ten seconds but otherwise my entire party has to beat on it for like a minute while it lies on the ground.

Some minor Ur-Dragon spoilers. For the third generation dragon I fought it twice and got like 50k gold and some ambrosial meat as a reward when it died :toot: This time I actually managed to make one of its health bars roll over and destroyed one of its weak points (right front paw) so I'm hoping for something better. You keep all of your items, experience/discipline, vocation points gold and rift crystals. I think you also keep all of your affinity. Just slew the Ur-Dragon: some fairly major spoilers about killing him and the reward: Once he got down to really low hp the next time I started the fight he was at 0 hp and all of his weak points were glowing. You have to destroy every single weak point before he flies off, but they only take a few hits each and destroying one makes him fall over so it's not that hard. For my reward I got 150k exp, a cool mask, abyssinal chest/arm/leg armor, a 2 hand mace, a 1 hand mace, a great shield, an archistaff and 20 goddamn wakestones. Also everything I was wearing was dragonforged, natch

Exactly what point of the story does the "angry mob trying to burn the witch" quest appear? I don't want to miss it this time.

I think the mask might be a semi-random item as it's not part of the abyssal set. Friend me (my psn id is on the list) and rent my pawn Valodya because he's wearing the armor, the mask and the warrior weapon. I've never bothered figuring out how to transfer screenshots from my ps3 to computer.

The armor is cool but a bit subdued. The 2h mace is cool and not at all subdued. The mask is one of the few helmets I've found that doesn't obscure your hair so it's a winner in my book. It looks like a gold phantom of the opera mask.

My party comp was Me: sword/bow assassin, Valodya: fighter, and a random mage with heals and holy buffs and a ranger. You pretty much need a mage, but I think melee fighters and especially climbers are your best bets for damage since bows/mages tend to die constantly and reviving them is the most dangerous part of fighting him.

Because she still has all the warrior-like augments on (30% more strength) she just melts everything. Coupled with the jump damage improvement she just wrecks small and big enemies alike. It's pretty fantastic.

The thing you're thinking of is a Drake, the only time I've seen a wyvern is after You kill the dragon and everything goes to hell. I found it on my way back to Gran Soren from Cassardis Drakes can potentially dragonforge your gear though.

Finally found the metal golem, the fight was actually really cool. I didn't think they'd be able to change up the golem concept very much, but they did. The one downside is that I think a non-magic archer might actually be required to win. My hired ranger pawn was enough.

Here's how to find it since it's convoluted as hell and I completely missed it on my first playthrough. You have to do the witchhunt quest, which means you also have to do the find Quina in the witchwood quest I believe. Once you've done that leave, come back and destroy all 7 of the fog totems in the witchwood. There are 3 in the first area and 4 in the hidden area. Then find the big yellowish golem in the marsh in the hidden area and it should wake up. If anyone's found a metal golem somewhere else I'd like to hear it.

Also, I think I found a way to pick with assurance who your love interest will be. It's a quest, here's how you start it: Go to the secret area of the witchwood. Again you need to have done the witchhunt quest, it's a real bitch that you can completely miss that huh? Anyway, the quest starts when you pick up a stone tablet in front of the witch's grave

I hope they eventually come out with DLC that adds new areas and/or monsters. I had some money sitting in my psn account so I got the 10 quests dlc for 99 cents and it basically just added 10 assassin's creed flags that give you 800 rift crystals when you pick them up. If all the 100 quests worth of dlc is going to be that then all the gnashing of teeth over the on-disc dlc is going to sound pretty silly.

On a related note, who the hell is going to buy rift crystals at 2000 for $1 (or at all). Going by that exchange rate my pawn made $70 last night with 0 effort on my part. Too bad I can't sell them back to Capcom.
