It's fairly easy to get that cave to blow up with an arrow that way. It's my preferred method.

While playing the swamp DLC in Fallout 3 I fired off a nuke inside the old gothic mansion while rednecks were attacking, and they all went absolutely nuts, stretching out to thin pseudohumans & getting stuck in geometry. It was pretty freaky.

In the 1992 Flashback game there was a pretty neat trick if you had played the game literally hundreds of times and knew the layout of every level: You can run through walls if you walk up right next to a wall, turn your back on it, then start running away but immediately turning around. I guess the turn radius is too big so you're now inside the wall and past the collision detection. Sadly there's only like 3-4 places where it's actually useful, cause mostly you'll fall to your death or at best save a minute's time. This is kindof a poo poo video, but here's a guy doing it in the first 10-15 seconds: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJy-x2qBAn4 Note that he could have walked underneath instead but I guess there's some reason for his video being hundreds of minutes long that I don't care to find out. e: holy gently caress he doesnt even know how to drop down from above into a crouch with your gun out jfc

In Flashback you could run through walls if you walk up and stand with your back to the wall, then run away from it and immediately turning to the wall again and switching to walking. I guess it brings you exactly past the collision detection. In 99% cases it's useless, but this guy does pretty well speedrunning the first stage using it several times (first at about 0:08 to drop down at the left side of the screen, skipping almost a third of the level): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d96SOMiHioM In the vast majority of cases though, you'll end up in a stalemate due to skipping some item needed for later, or falling to your death.

I'm plaing Alien: Isolation atm, and a couple days ago I was on the medical level looking for a door pass or something, whatever, I heard the alien behind me and ran into a cupboard, hoping for some freedom. Alas, the alien bugged out and literally just ran towards me forever, but stuck against a shelf or some poo poo. I watched it on/off for several minutes. I finally weighed my options and decided to exit the closet, except as soon as I did, the alien apparently lost interest and started hunting again. Back in the closet I went, and survived.

The only kinda game-breaking bug I've had was that all the enemies forgot to do anything for the rest of the battle. Every turn they'd just do nothing and return the initiative to me. I didn't mind so much because my squad was hosed up to say the least and I didn't mind picking off the I think 2 vipers 1 shapeless and a berserker from distance. Felt a little cheaty, but I don't care too hard.

Yeah Birgirpall was where I saw it first, and tbf it works well in his videos. It's playful, and only there when needed. That one up there is just literal transcription, slightly ankled. But I'm seeing it in like clips from TV news programs sometimes now. Like they're expecting people to have the video on mute. It's super annoying to watch the video with sound cause you've already read what they're going to say. Carthag Tuek has a new favorite as of 02:01 on Apr 23, 2016 |
