Personally I love Smasher's idea. Let's settle it on the field the way it should be done. Only thing I'd add is that neither should have two or more teams in a division. That way each faction member can win a division if the faction's good enough.

So apparently the entire outfield, which I perceived as my weakest part of the lineup, are all hitting at least .300. Of course, no one else is hitting over .200 right now but it's only three games. I'll move the Capital Punisher up to take the spot of Eddie Joost. He'll stay on the bench until the outfield comes back down to earth, which means he should be starting week 3. I'm probably overstepping my bounds a bit here, but I'm going to bet Kurt Gibson and Eddie Joost on a ****-challenge for Ty Cobb.

Since Gibson was in left field by what I see in the screenshot, I guess Frank Howard will take his spot in left. Making a new lineup for the change. 3B Jimmie Collins CF Chet Lemon LF Frank Howard 1B Mark McGwire RF Joe Medwick SS Alan Trammell 2B Charlie Gehringer C Ernie Lombardi Pitcher Going to wait a couple of weeks to see if Medwick should be replaced by Parker or not. He's not doing that badly with the bat, but if he continues to not walk and have zero power a change will be needed.

Guess I will put Joe Medwick back into left field and then move Frank Howard over to right field once again. Have a question for you Smasher. How much of a disaster would it be if I put Paul Molitor into the shortshop position? I'm noticing that Trammell has slipped a lot offensively this season. However he's been defensively solid by how the stats look and don't want to lose more runs from defensive errors then I'd gain from the better looking bat Molitor has right now. Assuming the answer is "Do it and I'll kill you," I'll make this new lineup to move Trammell down the order. 3B Jimmy Collins CF Chet Lemon RF Frank Howard 1B Mark McGwire LF Joe Medwick 2B Charlie Gehringer C Ernie Lombardi SS Alan Trammell Pitcher

Hate doing this, but apparently I need to use platoons to make my lineup better. Lineup vs LHP 3B Paul Molitor CF Chet Lemon RF Frank Howard 1B Mark McGuire LF Joe Medwick 2B Charlie Gehringer C Ernie Lombardi SS Alan Trammell Pitcher Lineup vs RHP 3B Jimmy Collins CF Bobby Murcer RF Dave Parker 1B Mark McGwire LF Joe Medwick 2B Charlie Gehringer C Ernie Lombardi SS Alan Trammell Pitcher For next week however, I need to rest Alan Trammell so Paul Molitor will play shortshop and bat 8th in both lineups. Thus Jimmy Collins will lead off in both lineups. TKBomber7285 fucked around with this message at 03:41 on Oct 19, 2012 |
