I thought Fieros were tiny, and yet, there is a full-grown man resting on the bonnet. Being in the UK, I don't even think I've seen one for real, but I figured they were early MR2 size?

Still like the later shape ones - I think someone here had a project one in white? I had a Micro Machine exactly like that, it was my fave. No photos, but I got overtaken by a 288 GTO this evening on the M1. Never had my jaw dropped by seeing a car before - or hearing it. It was incredible. I only hope my first F40 sighting is as good. Seriously, what a loving beautiful, amazing machine that was.

The Figaro and the SCargo are played out. The Pao is where it's at. Would seriously like one of these, but they only come in automatic.

Speaking of drawing emotion, this is really good. Short little video of a guy who owns a 300SL and hasn't made a trailer queen out of it. He's awesome, the car is beautiful, and it's a really nice video. Good god, the engine noise. https://vimeo.com/42983057

Technically not Lambo doors? ( sorry) I love the Parcour but it'll never see the light of day. I think it's one of the most interesting cars I've seen in years. Giugiaro designs The Best Cars, I'm pretty sure I can pick a car of his from every decade that's hands down my favourite.

They destroyed at least one Jensen Interceptor - when I was last at the studio where they were shooting they had one of those cut-in-half car rigs on a dolly with a smashed up Jensen (also the Rock held a door open for me) *e although it may have been a salvaged one, hard to say really. Was dented all down the sides.

Spotted this brill little Volvo. Notable only for the fact that it's still alive, and that it's clearly been loved. It was about as good as a car like this could possibly be, given it's a daily driver. The guy who owned it looked like David Attenborough, but twice as old.

An F40 purred past me down a country lane at 40mph the other day (outside a pub) and although it sounded amazing, it was like the potential noise that you knew was there that was exciting. Really hoped the driver would open it up and let us hear it.

A film I art directed last year has just come out. Watching it and it turns out that the Escort Cosworth we hired as set dressing made the cut: But the MP4-12C didn't! Also nor did a Sierra Cosworth and an old Escort RS2000, but a WRX did. I didn't get to choose where they were parked or they would have done :|

Not sure if this qualifies as "awesome", but another one for the "never thought I'd see one again" folder. A Ford Orion! How many of these can still exist? This one was barely existing, you could see holes in all the flanks and the owners looked to be in about the same sort of condition.

I wonder if they had any idea that their car is so hilariously rare by virtue of it not being completely dead yet. e: On a slightly less grim note, this ancient 205 Rallye is owned by an old lady and I see it very regularly in 4 places in town - on her drive, outside the local library, outside the local Tesco, and in our local garage about once a month without fail. Well looked after and loved, probably due to sentimental value. The fact that the graphics are in such good nick makes me grin. e: wait, if this is right, I was driving the last registered GTX... echoplex fucked around with this message at 00:08 on Jan 19, 2014 |
