I personally run an Onkyo which goes into a processor, mainly for ease of having it scaled correctly and de-noised a bit with HDMI out. Sure, they could remaster off these with scalers etc. I'm pretty sure Harmy used a version of A New Hope on LD as a source for his De-Specialised edition. Laserdisc also had Dolby Surround Sound! builds character posted:Not live. This is a logistical issue in part and in part an issue of the ASO being big jerks about who can film when and how that’s distributed. France 4 has the fastest, best coverage but it’s in French. Eurosport can be decent but prefers to show darts and snooker reruns, and Red Bull and nbc do a daily recap. Sometimes there are live FB feeds from folks on the ground and I will link those live if I’m watching rather than waiting to include them in a daily post. Is there a Dakar thread for this to keep an eye on? I'm keen on seeking Toby Price maybe win again.

One thing about Dakar I would love is embedded cameras in helmet/hood/roof on each team. Much like F1 and even V8 Supercars - broadcasters can vision switch. Of course this is different due to remoteness, but even if loitering helicopers in the area could be an uplink node. I've done enough remote photography and live or near to live (5 minute delay to editroom) uploading film working from some narley. I have no idea how their workflow is, and appreciate everything, some of those photographers have their glass on loving point for Pulitzer level shots. I'm just drunk and wanting more of a good thing. EDIT: Go Price!

We would call up the rescue helicopter guys and see if they wanted to do some training and tee up a weekend rescue simulation over the main beach of the town for all to see. One of us going for certs got into emergency gear and went overboard (in the QLD shark filled water) and get lifted by the helicopter. drat, now I miss it and want to move back into that area and .... oh poo poo I'm gonna be that old bloke pottering around the moorings yelling advise.
