Oh my god I'm just now listening to it and How did This get Made is indeed amazing. Talking about the cold open and the cries of "CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE END?!" sums this movie up so well.

The way it sounds I think we're gonna have this main group going through a long campaign (a campaign in D&D can last any amount of time, since it's basically a compilation of adventures), and personally I'm cool with that. They have great chemistry from being a group for so long, and I loved their interactions. The start of any role playing game is slow, yea, since like you heard most of it is getting the group together and poo poo, I expect the next show to be more fun because it'll have combat, and D&D 4th Edition (Don't know if they said that's what edition they're using but it is) has a really fun combat system. Basically they've combined comics who are awesome with a game I enjoy a great deal, poo poo's cash for me.

For those who haven't listened yet almost the entire episode takes place with them capturing some random crewman, and then panicking on how to deal with her. It's pretty much every hilarious kidnapping comedy. Also them having a legitimate worry that Poshein's character would 'Lenny' the situation and kill her had me laughing so hard I had to rewind.

Man I like the new Improv4Humans and all but Besser is insufferable when he goes on his "UGH I HATE SEEING PEOPLE SAY HUG YOUR KIDS THAT'S SO STUPID" rants. Can someone explain to him that other people don't have trouble with empathy like he does or something? Like, 90% hilarious, but goddamn that's one of the most grating personality flaws to me.

# ¿ Dec 22, 2012 20:20 |

But there's really nobody who was doing that were saying 'only hug your kids do nothing else' and they didn't think it was some magic spell to protect them from a dragon, it was the day of a horrific child slaughtering and parents and people of faith reacted with shock in really normal ways. At least with his atheism stuff he usually only brings that kinda stuff out when it's some crazy person talking about how they all have no morals at all and are corrupting society or whatever, this just felt really bitter and mean for no reason.

Greggy posted:If you skip past the extended "Matt grills a random guy from the internet" part, it was one of the best i4h episodes ever, in my opinion. They did a really great job of finding scenes that sort of commented on Sandy Hook without taking it there directly. I even liked that part if only because of Matt's utter confusion at the dude's reality where he was rambling about how if he'd have been in Aurora he'd totally have taken out the shooter.

Besser is, despite me sometimes griping about specific bits, one of the few current 'angry comics' that I really enjoy consistently. He does have a gift for delivering pure vitriol in a funny way.

Buying Nerdist is buying a media empire run by a well known figure, which happened to include a very successful podcast network. I really doubt it was meant as some kind of stupid snub to not include them in the concept of a podcast network being bought because it's a podcast network.

The new How Did This Get Made? is wonderful. Tim Heidecker is on and they talk Odd Life of Timothy Green. There's no super awesome jokes, but they have a legitimate two on two debate about the movie and it's really fun to hear.

Greggy posted:It was definitely an interesting episode. I was kind of dreading it ever since they said Tim Heidecker was going to be on because while I love pretty much everything he's ever done I've never seen him break character before and I wasn't sure how good HDTGM would be with that on top of the discussion. Tim is genuine throughout though and contributed some real insight in to the movie. Yea same, I love him as a comic but I've never really seen him as Tim before, really refreshing to see that when he's not being a character he's really fun and insightful about things.

My biggest issue with Case Closed is that when it's not against someone just obviously stupid like the dude who said with his hand gun he could totally have stopped the movie theater shooting so everyone needs gun, Matt just isn't as smart as he thinks he is. When you get that with his whole 'well it doesn't bother ME why should it bother YOU?!' kinda attitude it's just really a chore. Also you usually have guests wanting to throw in because otherwise it's a really awkward conversation with a couple guys just sitting there, so you have like four voices at once while Skype lags and it's exhausting.

I don't always think of it as a Nazi voice but I could see how someone gets there. He defaults to 'harsh German guy' when he has to play someone in charge, yea. I honestly never even heard it as Nazi unless it was specifically "I AM A NAZI", though.
