I got this link from the crunchyroll forums: http://girls-und-panzer.at.webry.info/201211/article_2.html I can't read Japanese, but there were apparently some production issues, and next week's episode will be a clip show as a result.

I'm less disappointed at the fanservice (Blu-ray extras are usually guaranteed to be raunchier than regular episodes) than at how lazy the animation was.

http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2013/02/13/girls-und-panzer-official-illustration-contest-begins-in-japanquote:Tinami.com, a Japanese website dedicated to networking anime and manga creators, is now holding an official illustration contest named "Oarai Girl's High School Art Contest" for the characters and tanks from popular TV anime series Girls und Panzer. The anime voice actresses and staff will chose the winners, and the winning entries will be exhibited at a Spring event "Kairaku Feasta x Girls und Panzer @ Oarai" in Ibaragi on March 24th and the Tinami website later. The illustration must be 1654px X 2339px (A4, 200dpi) size and include the girls and tanks from Girls und Panzer, or one of them. You can submit as many entries as you want. The deadline for entries is March 10th, 2013. You can check the current entries here. Surprisingly, the most disturbing picture isn't fanservicey at all. http://www.tinami.com/view/542668

The second OVA doesn't seem to have made it onto the internet yet, but I've seen some stills on tumblr, and if you didn't like the last OVA, you probably really aren't going to like the next one. I would be very happy if I never had to see another naked apron in an anime again.

It's one of the better known bits from the TV show, but I'm still really surprised that anyone in Japan would know Monty Python. A lot of their sketches are about as tough to translate as Finnegans Wake. I like that they included the stock shot of the Viking ship.

I guess if they just won the National Championship they could go to the world championship. I just watched the raw of the 3rd OVA. It's quite talky, so I didn't understand much, but the Anglerfish team walks around the inside of the school ship, and apparently, school ships have been around since ancient times. And then they go to a hot spring at the end. What would you like to see in a second season? I'd like it to be a 2-cour season, so they could have regular season matches where they don't have to win, and so they can focus on some of the tank crews that didn't get much screen time.

About Upotte:quote:The first problem, then, is the rampant, out-of-control fan service. This series makes a big deal about correlating various parts of firearms machinery with the female anatomy, and these girls are often heard talking about "their triggers going off". This is one of the least graceful euphemisms for genitalia I've ever encountered in a non-hentai title, and leads to a lot of unfortunate implications about what's really going on when you see them actually shooting at each other. Another egregious scene near the beginning has Funco's skeleton stock being visualized as "T-back" thong panties. The fan service gets incredibly bad near the middle, where one of the (temporary) antagonists, Sako (a Finnish SAKO Rk 95 Tp which is essentially a reverse-engineered AK-47 on serious steroids ... and an offensive maniac lesbian archetype straight out of the 90s) is seen visibly getting off on shooting the other girls, which is about the point this show jumps every cartilaginous fish in the book. Remember, these are middle schoolers, and if the idea of seeing them in their undergarments (or less) bothers you then I suggest running as far in the opposite direction as possible. http://themanime.org/viewreview.php?id=1460 The fact that I had read this review is why I didn't start watching Upotte even though I loved Girls und Panzer.

They should do an episode where there's a controversy about tankery being dangerous, just like there is with football today. Also, don't think too hard about why there were so many bombed-out buildings in the final match.

I'd really like to see a character popularity poll like in manga magazines. Here are my favorites: Yukari Katyusha Erwin Saki Sodoko Momo Maus Also, I remember seeing pictures of keychains with all the Anglerfish members being sold at an event at the real Oarai- all of them were sold out except Hana.
