Uggh. My watching group buddies have vetoed this show for this season after the 3 episode test, and I can't rightly blame them. I am so crushed by how terrible this adaptation is. Apparently the discount studio that was contracted for the animation outsourced it to an even more discount studio or something.

One of my favorite manga series of all time and I ducked out after episode 1. The first 3 minutes hits you with reused animation in the opening. Made me feel like I was watching a budget series from 2005. This series deserves way better.

I'm enjoying it; the animation is low budget but not unwatchable, and the voice acting is good. That said, I do despair over its chances of attracting new viewers like this.

As someone who bounced off the manga twice ages ago (once when it was ongoing, then again after it wrapped up) I've been really enjoying the anime. It's real rough looking but I find that its direction is solid and I generally care more about that than animation fluidity. A bit like a particular kind of mid to late 00s anime whose reach exceeds its grasp but dammit it's trying hard enough that it's endearing anyways.

I watched Planet With but somehow it didn't leave much of an impression on me at all. I guess I thought it was ok, but unremarkable? I actually had to google it to remind myself what it was.
