Amandyke posted:Just picked up a 2013 Focus ST. I feel it's an appropriate color. I'll take a photo of it next to my other yellow wagon/hatch (2003 wrx sportwagon in sonic yellow) one of these days... How do you like it? Were you able to beat on the test drives at all? I've seriously been considering one, but I'm generally not a fan of FWD cars. From everything I've read and seen, they would appear to be set up fairly well, but I'm still a bit leery on them. Love that color though. Without getting into specifics, would you mind me asking how close to MSRP you got it for?

Amandyke posted:I paid $25,995 after incentives, MSRP was $29,165. The car handles extremely well, only very slight understeer which is solved by taking your foot off the loud pedal. Otherwise it is very neutral and if you chuck it into a corner the back end will step out ever so slightly to basically point you at the apex of the corner. It is quite a bit of fun to drive. And yes I railed on it (well a different one on the lot) during the test drive, may have frightening the sales guy a little. You're...not helping me save money...

Since this is the proper place, does anyone here have any hands-on time with the Volvo V50? They've caught my eye lately and the T5 seems like a possibly viable option.

Tremek posted:Volvo's making some cool wagons right now too but they won't be in the $15k range next year. Seems totally doable to find a low-mileage CTS wagon for that kind of coin though. I wonder how that would look with the chrome blacked out. I didn't realize the prices came down that far. Not bad...

chrisgt posted:About $250 or so on average to get a set of euro lights. I honestly kinda like the round lights. They're sealed beams and really suck, so I'm trying to find an easy projector conversion. I think the e30 projector headlights might just fit. If they're the standard H6024 7" lights, Hella makes a retrofit housing that takes an H4 bulb. I'll probably pick some up for the Nova eventually. I think they usually run $40-$45 per side. Plus bulbs.

LloydDobler posted:Yes, they should be. I did that conversion on my 122 already, made a night and day difference (heh). I got them as a kit with both lights and bulbs for $70 on amazon prime. You can even get them E-code, which I did. They have the modern hard cutoff beam pattern with the angle up to the right. Here's a link: http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B001G72SKQ?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00 Nice! I didn't realize they made a full kit. Definitely going on the wish list.
